I reviewed a lot of OSDM albums in 2018. For some reason, I decided not to review Tomb Mold's Manor Of Infinite Forms. It got nominated for Best Death Metal Album in our awards. So I guess now it's time to right some wrongs.

Look forward to this one. "Manor of Infinite Forms" is terrific and going to see them in September.

One of the most overrated modern death metal bands around. They don't deserve all the praise they get anywhere, however, that doesn't mean they're bad. Improvement is the key for success.

I didn't understand the praise for Manor, but this is a big step forward in my opinion.

Manor was a top 5 album last year. The three early release tracks are sick but the full album is out today so I'll be playing the hell out of this for the next few weeks.

Osdm is very subtile, there isnt a lot that differences between bands in sound, so its interesting to see how a band is hyped and gets a lot of attention and praise when others dont. If I recall it correctly there was a lot of different kinds of colas which all tasted quite similar but most of them are gone now as one did all the marketing.

Although i have a certain amount of scepticism regarding the flurry of OSDM bands releasing records. I found myself growing fond of a couple of them.

Certainly Tomb Mold is one of them and i think this is a really good OSDM record. Especially the riffing in this offering is really an improvement. Finally i also liked very much the song placement on the record.

I think that's sort of the blessing in disguise. While the genre has become quickly over-saturated, the sheer quantity gives you plenty of options to choose from, meaning your chances of finding the one that stands out for whatever reason is that much greater.

They all come across somewhat indistinguishable, but every now and then something commands your attention. I haven't heard this myself, but it's certainly one to add to the ever-growing list of stuff I have to catch up on after being a few years out of the loop.

I completely agree with the premise although i have never thought like that in that matter. I feel enlightened

I would also love to hear your opinion regarding the album following your tryout !

I much prefer this to The Enduring Spirit tbh. I prefer the classic OSDM approach it has, it's much simpler, yet a lot more groovy and brutal sounding, with chunkier riffs and heavier bass, and I also like the much dirtier production here too.
