Biography
The band started in 1998 when Juho and Riku found a band without a name or players. Tuomas joined the band in winter 2000 as a guitarist. Jesse joined later (year 2001) as a bassist. Now the band got all the necessary players, except the singer. Juho asked Ville Kanniala to join till the first demo, and he agreeded. Frostburn was chosen as the name of the band.
The band began to write and practice songs. The drums for the frist demo were recorded at BRR - Studios in year's 2001 November. Later in January 2002, Ville said that he would continue as a singer. The guitars, bass and vocals were recorded at RAKK - Studio. The first demo, Siege of Misery was finished 16.02.2002.
After finishing the first demo, Frostburn got it's very first gig. The gig was played in 6.4.2002 at Kuusela. After the first gig, quite soon there were gigs after gigs. An interview about Frostburn was made as well. After playing some gigs, the band decided to make its 2nd demo. While making the demo, there were some inner problems in the band, so Ville couldn't sing in Frostburn anymore. Antti Ojalehto was chosen as a new singer.
After we had recorded 5 songs, the harddrive at RAKK blew up and we lost nearly all the recorded material. At least we still got 2 recorded songs left and we recorded one more, and here we are : Mirror Image.
Quite soon after finishing the 2nd demo, Frostburn got a gig from Tornio, playing with several other bands like Sonata Arctica. This gig was Frostburn's first gig which was played outside Raahe.
A month after this, Antti felt like he wouldn't like to sing anymore in Frostburn, so he decided that he will leave soon. The rest of the band and Antti decided together that he could leave just after the Kuusela gig. As soon as Antti left, the band got a new singer right away. The name is Jarno Markus.
''My Scars'' was chosen as the name of the 3rd demo. The whole thing was recorded at BRR-Studios by Pasi Sipilä. Some gigs and promoting happened after the release.
For a first time for a long time the band makes a new line-up change. Jarkko Markus (Yes, Jarno's brother) joins the band as a keyboardist.
Frostburn began recording the new demo, Ballet Of Death, in summer 2004 and finished it in november 2004.
