Agonize is one of the most important bands to form after the war in Bosnia, and is greatly recognised for their role in the survival of Bosnian metal scene.
The band started in Tuzla in 1997, and after two years in 1999 they recorded their first 5-song demo. 2001. saw the band's first full-lenght album The Chosen One which was self-released. After some line-up changes (original singer Elvis Trakić left the band, and guitarist Adnan Hatić stepped in for vocal duties) a lot of live shows, and a slight change in their music, the band released their second album When Memory Dies. This album was a great push for the band, and while promoting it, they did two tours, with Obscura in 2007, and Bloody Sign in 2008.
In 2008. two original line-up members (Dario Stevanovic - bass, and Anton Grgić - guitar) left the band. From then on, the band continues to work as a three-piece, with Zoran Stjepić stepping in as a bass player.
This line-up recorded 2009's EP The Fever and also did the video for the song "Perfect Day". In 2010 Zoran also left the band, and is replaced by Haris Hasančević. The band is currently working on their second video for the song "Blessed By The Sin", and also has some new material in the works.
Some of the countries the band has played so far include: Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Czech Reublic, Hungary, Germany, France.
The band was also scheduled for a Brazil tour in 2011, but was forced to cancel it for personal reasons.
