Biography
Comacozer is a 3 piece band from Sydney, Australia that play a blend of instrumental heavy psych and stoner rock.
Comacozer were formed in early 2013 by Rick Burke (guitars), Richard Elliott (bass) and Andrew Pana (drums).
Rick was introduced to Andrew on an online music blog. They got talking about having a jam and what kind of music they wanted to make. From the first jam they had together they knew they were on the same page musically. Andrew brought in Rich to their next jam, which completed the 3-piece's formula. The concept of this band was to cross their influences, making dark, psychedelic music with a doom/stoner vibe, most importantly to get together, jam and have fun.
Their first release came on 13th November, 2014 in the form of the EP Sessions. Sessions was recorded at the Soundworks Studios in Sydney during April 2014 and was mixed by Dav Byrne.
In January 2015, they recorded a second EP at Frank St Studios, Sydney with Frank Attard as producer. The EP was released in March of the same year, titled Deloun. In June 2015, Comacozer signed to independent Dutch record label, Headspin Records (Clear Spot International) to release Comacozer's first full length LP. The LP in question was a remastered compilation of their first two EPs, titled Deloun Sessions, which was released in July 2015.[4]
The band released 3 studio albums to date, 2016's debut Astra Planeta, 2017's Kalos Eidos Skopeo, and 2019's Mydriasis.
Comacozer have been a mainstay in the Australian stoner/doom scene in recent years, featuring on several of [band]Your Mate Bookings[/b]'s tours, supporting Australian bands such as Jack Harlon & The Dead Crows, The Black Heart Death Cult and Ya̧nomamö, in addition to international acts such as Naxatras, and featuring at the 2022 Wo Fest in Melbourne in support of Somali Yacht Club and Stoned Jesus.
