I got into it through Underoath, Maylene and A7X mostly, but then I was given a metal hammer sampler cd in 8th grade and it had a lot of good stuff I still listen to
There is a kind of people over here called "bogans" they listen to mainstream metal all day, I think people would just call me a Bogan if I played them those bands
Depends who your trying to say, someone who listens to punk for example isn't going to get turned on by some mainstream band they have probably already heard on the radio
