Biography

GOLGOTHA started in 1993 as a project of Vicente J., parallel to his Death Metal band UNBOUNDED TERROR, recording five songs with the help of various session musicians and was released a a mini CD entitled "Caves of Mind" by Repulse Records in early '94. After an excellent acceptation by medias and fans, the same label offered them a two album deal so Vicente J. looked for a steady line-up that finally recorded the band's debut "Melancholy" in 1995 getting even better recognition and resulting in numerous shows around Spain.

In 1998 the band recorded their second album "Elemental Changes", but then some personal problems emerged in the line-up and afterwards Vicente J. decided to break up.

Five years later, Vicente J. decided to reform GOLGOTHA, this time just him and Dave Rotten (AVULSED) on vocals. In late '94 he started to write 8 new songs plus a cover sonf of E.L.P. and a remake of the old band's classic "Lake Of Memories" (the very first song written by GOLGOTHA 10 years ago). In early 2005, Vicente J. recorded at Electric Chair Studios all the instruments with the exception of vocals and drums, recorded by Dave Rotten (AVULSED) and Carlos (BLIND PANIC) respectively and produced by Pablo Ochando.

"New Life" is the third full length album by GOLGOTHA released by Electric Chair Music in Spain and by Metal Age Productions worldwide.

The new songs follow the style that has always characterized the band, that is, a mid-paced Doom that's really heavy, melancholic and with catchy rhythms, with a deep and guttural voice, full of sadness/melancholy and feeling.

GOLGOTHA is now working on the 4th album due to be recorded in spring 2007 and will follow a quite different style, becoming way heavier, darker and avantgarde.
