Hellixxir came to birth near Grenoble (France) in September 2001 although the name was used for the first time the 14th June 2002 for the first gig. The members were, at this time: Julien, Matthieu, Damien and Sylvain. However, the music played by the band became more aggressive with the coming of Jean-Marc (October 2001) on the rhythm guitar.

Hellixxir began to work on an original Metal, melting the influences of cult Thrash bands like Megadeth, Metallica, Pantera, Testament, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Pop Rock bands like Guns'n Roses, Extreme, Queen, Van Halen or Deep Purple. Soon comes out a many-sided music: good old Rock drums, Power Metal riffs, amazing solos inspired from the 1980's - 1990's guitar heroes with clear lead vocals and Thrash/Death backing vocals.

In June 2003, the band decides to auto-produce a first demo, "The Cypress Forest", from which more than 400 copies have been sold.

In August 2003, Hellixxir enters the studio one more time to record 2 titles, which will be mixed only in March 2004. One of them, "The Hunter of Thunders", is figured on 2 international compilations. This symbolizes the end of an era...

With the exception of Julien and Matthieu, the line-up entirely changed at the end of 2004, which includes the music played by Hellixxir. The band came to more brutal but also more technical music without forgetting the melodies and the emotions. This gives birth to a musical identity which is hard to define, at the fronteers of melodic Thrash Metal.

In February 2007, Hellixxir is proud to present the 11 tracks concept-album "War Within" distributed by the french label Brennus Music.

Julien decided to leave the band at the beginning of January 2008 so Camille (bass guitar & backing vocals) naturally became the lead singer. Alex (guitar) finally left the band after two years of good and loyal service in August 2008.
