Biography

Shalem was formed in the Fall of 2019 by Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Travis James Manning (New Mexican Erection, Worm-Hole, Hadron Collider) and Bass player Steven “Bevo” Fardal (Blind, New Mexican Erection, Hadron Collider, Nosh). Soon after the break-up of Manning’s long running band “Worm-Hole,” Manning enlisted longtime friend and ex-band member Bevo to start a new original Metal project. After working unsuccessfully with several different drummers over the course of almost a year and taking a break during the pandemic, Manning reached out to another longtime friend and drummer Roger Bishop. Bishop was currently on a hiatus from his band “Cruces Cult” and agreed to join in and get an album recorded. The trio began working on material in August 2020 and is all ready to begin recording a new 10 track album before the end of 2020. Their sound is a unique blend of Thrash Metal, Groove Metal, and straight up Rock and Roll. Along with Manning’s powerful clean voice, the beautifully tight drums with thundering double-bass is accented by Chunky groove riffs on the guitar, and a funkilicious bass tone like no other.
