"Ambehr" band was founded in 1995 in the capital of Armenia Yerevan by Art. Initially the band consisted of three persons: Art - bass-guitar / vocals, Hrant - drums, Ashot - guitars. The first recording was made 3 years later - in 1998. After that the guys moved to St. Petersburg (Russia) where some copies of the recorded demo-mignon "Life and death" were released. The CD included 5 songs in "thrash/heavy/progressive" style. From 1998 to 2000 "Life and death" several times was broadcasted on the local radio stations. During this period "Ambehr" took part in several gigs in the local club "Polygon" with such the bands as "Koma", "Khischnik", "God's Tower", etc. In March of 2000 the band recorded its second demo album "Devil's Notebook" where the style of music a bit moved to "death-metal". Two tracks from the previous CD moved to the new album. According to the tradition right after the recording "Ambehr" left - this time for Moscow, the capital of Russia. It took the guys more than 1 year to adapt to life in a new city. Only in the end of 2001 the band renewed its activity. First "Devil's Notebook" was released on audiocassettes with help of Russian label "Ta-Musica". To run ahead it is necessary to say that in 2005 this album was re-released as a valuable album by a Mexican label "Atolinga Records". In 2002 Ashot left the "Ambehr" and 2 new guitar-players came instead. The vocals divided into male and female vocals - Art's sister Marina began to sing with him. In this stuff the band began their concert activity in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Also new stuff for the first full-length album was being prepared for recording. In 2004 the new stuff was recorded in "Moscow Sound Studio". Music of "Ambehr" became more melodious though it did not lost original roughness. The album that was called "Spider's Web" was released in 2005 by "Taiga Sounds" label and was well criticized in several editions in Russia and abroad. In October 2005 "Ambehr" began to work on a new studio album that was called "Sword's Song". The recording was done in the same studio "Moscow Sound" and the CD was release by "Taiga Sounds" label in February 2006. "Sword's Song" was presented at gigs in several towns of Russia and also in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Both "Spider's Web" and "Sword's Song" are being sold in about 100 towns of Russia, in Germany, the USA, Mexico, Canada, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Japan, China, and Australia. In June 2007 the Moscow label "Sound Age" released the third CD of the band. The stuff called in Russian "Chernaya Doroga" (Black road") differs from the traditional style of "Ambehr". The lyrics of are in Russian, the music has Slavonic roots. Actually this release has separated the band music into two parts: a) music intended for listeners that prefer traditional western metal music with Oriental ethnic melodic performed in English; b) music especially for listeners who are fond of Slavonic ethno-metal music. In this case the band's name is written in Russian as "ÀÌÁÅÐ". At the moment "Ambehr" is working on its next album (in its traditional style) that is going to be recorded and released in 2008.
