Dead Congregation play old-school death metal similar to that of Morbid Angel and Immolation. In 2005 they released their first album, the Purifying Consecrated Ground EP, which was followed by their full-length debut, Graves Of The Archangels in 2008.

Since the band's inception, Dead Congregation have steadily increased their fan base through extensive touring and forging "allegiances" with bands such as Hail Of Bullets, Demigod, Headhunter D.C., and Urgrund.
