Biography
January 1996 saw the release of their debut, the "Channelling the Ethereal Moons" MCD in an edition of 500 copies. This release presented the raw, harsh sound of early ABAZAGORATH. In the very same month, the band recorded the 2 song "Winter 96 Promo."
During the summer of 1996, ABAZAGORATH recorded the 4 song "Summer 1996 Promo" and also signed a recording contract with Elegy Records. The resulting full length CD "Tenebrarum Cadent Exsurgemus" was unleashed in March 1997. A cover version of the MAYHEM classic "Funeral Fog" was recorded in April / May 2000 for use on a USBM tribute to MAYHEM that was never released. Seven songs were recorded in Spring 2001 for two releases: "The Spirit of Hate for Mankind" 7" EP which came out on Blood Fire Death Records in July 2002, and the "Enshrined Blasphemer" MCD which was originally supposed to come out as part of a split LP that never materialized, has just been unleashed on Agonia Records. The band's second full length "Sacraments of the Final Atrocity" came out on Morbid Wrath Records in March 2004, This album was supported by a successful European Tour with Demoncy and Krieg. "Sacraments..." was later re-issued on the cult label, Necroharmonic.
Over the years, ABAZAGORATH has performed numerous live rituals with many well known and respected Metal acts, including: DEICIDE, MARDUK, ENSLAVED, IMPALED NAZARENE, DESTROYER 666, ENTHRONED, CRYPTOPSY, USURPER, DIABOLIC, VITAL REMAINS, ANCIENT, HELL MILITIA,SUFFOCATION, INCANTATION, MACABRE, ELECTRIC WIZARD, CADAVER INC., GORGUTS, COFFIN TEXTS, MORTICIAN, PROFANATICA, DEMONCY, NUNSLAUGHTER, SADISTIC INTENT, HELL-BORN, ANTAEUS, BLACK WITCHERY, INQUISITION, AKERCOCKE, GRAND BELIAL'S KEY, BLOOD STORM, GOREAPHOBIA, PERVERSERAPH, LUCIFER'S HAMMER, EVOKEN, DISCIPLES OF MOCKERY, SUMMON, BLACK MASS, KRIEG, , FOG, ENGORGE, BLOOD THRONE, FLUISTERWOUD, HEMLOCK, THE DYING LIGHT, DETERIOROT, CEREMONIUM, MALIGNANCY, FOREST OF IMPALED, NOCTUARY, IBEX THRONE, BAHIMIRON, and many more....
2005: The ten year anniversary was marked by the release of an official compendium of the band's early works including rare demo tracks as well as the MCD and their debut album. Released on Hell Attacks Productions 2005.
2009: Abazagorath.. Bloodstorm split "Ancient Entities Arise" has been released on the cult label Elegy Records.
2011: After almost 6 year hiatus band returns, Morgul leaves, new guitarist Maelstorm joins as perm member. July-August Abazagorath record new MCD entitled "Abazagorath" for label Diabolist Services. New album due out for release October/November 2011.
