Biography

In May 1998, Franck Kobolt began composing music for a personal project named Chrysalid. At first only four songs were written, because this music was intended for a private recording, not for a public release. But in the following month, Franck Kobolt teamed up with another composer, Phil Quist, and with the vocalist Corrosive Bob, and this resulted in the writing of more music and songs for a demo. At the end of a whole year, what had initially started out as a four-song demo had become a full-length album.

In June 1999, the band (now officially named Symbyosis), got in touch with the Hidden Association to deal with the production of this record, which was eventually completed in January 2000. This album, "Crisis", contains thirteen tracks and was recorded with the participation of some of the band's friends: Oslanon Gerom and Cryopsis Entity on backing vocals, and Karl on lead guitar. Cryopsis Entity also wrote the lyrics for some of the songs. One of the songs from "Crisis", The Quest Of The Dolphin, was picked to appear on the sample CD of the March 2000 issue of the Metallian magazine.

The band signed to Listenable Records in July 2000 and the MCD "The Fluid" was released in September, followed by the complete album "Crisis" in November. Sybmyosis was encouraged to perform live in order to promote "Crisis", so a proper line-up was established: Tariq Zulficar (drums), Antoine Rognon (bass), Nikos Kevorkian (guitar), Corrosive Bob (lead vocals), and Franck Kobolt (guitar).
