Biography
Korovakill is an Austrian avant-garde metal band with both male and female vocals. The band consists of Moritz Neuner (Abigor, Leaves' Eyes, Graveworm, Atrocity, Angizia, Darkwell) on drums, Christof Niederwieser (Angizia) performing vocals and playing guitar, bass, and some keyboards, and Renaud Tschirner (Elend) on keyboards. Christof has a distinctive Transylvanian accent to his vocals.
Korovakill released their first two albums under the name Korova through Napalm Records. In 2000, the band changed its name from 'Korova' to 'Korovakill'. They released their third album, Waterhells, through Red Stream in 2001.
In 1996 Korova started to write the follow-up of "A Kiss in the Charnel Fields", to be called "Echowelt", but the album has never been released, rejected by dozens of record labels. Most tracks have have appeared elsewhere, as bonus tracks on other albums ("Trip to the Bleeding Planets (Unto the Light)" and "Fritz Protivinsky's Tantra-Nove-HyperCannibalism"), "easy listening" re-recordings on "Dead Like an Angel" ("Trip to the Bleeding Planets (Unto the Light)", "Strangulation Alpha"), and four songs were recorded as a promo CD "Echowelt" released in 1997 ("Echowelt/Ein Glaeserner Abend fur Zwei", "Lucid Silence Day Parade (to JesusRace on SteelMast High)", "Neonbooster Tintronwings (Cloudslasher 1982)", and "Reizschub Staerke 10").
The band presently (2013) consists of only one member, Christof Niederwieser, who plays all instruments and does all vocals. Chryst released their first two albums under the name Korova through Napalm Records. In 2000, the band changed its name from 'Korova' to Korovakill. They released their third album, Waterhells, through Red Stream in 2001. Then, in 2011, they came back under another new name, 'Chryst', with Christof being the only remaining member, and released a brand new album titled PhantasmaChronica.
