Biography

Gverr was formed in Albania in September 2007 by Enea (guitar, screams), Blandi (guitar, growls), and Anri (bass). Formerly known as Trout, the band began as a thrash metal band.

The band went through a few drummers at the beginning, picking up Martin Kryekurti (Bellicist) along the way. Originally covering songs from Death, Deicide, Vital Remains, Kreator, etc., Gverr eventually began recording their own material, shifting to a form of progressive death metal.

In September 2008 Gverr recorded their first song, "Euphoria", recorded in Albanian and English versions. That song led to a performance in Top Fest 6, an important Albanian show. "Sprained Instinct", the band's second song, was recorded in July 2009.

Some live performances were held in Tirana, with the band's first show outside the border held in Macedonia that September.

After working intensely to prepare for the release of their first album, Gverr played the biggest metal show in Macedonia: Dojdi Veslaj 4 Fest. With fans around the world showing their support for the up-and-coming band, their confidence grew alongside their hope for a bright future. Finally on September 10, 2010, Gverr released their first album, Failed Philosophy, which contains nine songs and was released independently.
