Omniavatar - Biography
Biography
Timo Komulainen founded Omniavatar as he began writing the story of "United Earth" in December 2008. He had used the idea of composing music based on a story with his first solo album "Antediluvian Hunger".[1]
As the compositional process of "United Earth" was completed at the end of 2009, Timo started recruiting musicians to bring his vision to life. Mikko Virtala (ex-Funeris Nocturnum) quickly proved himself to be the drummer of choice, being able to handle the wide range of styles Omniavatar represents. Mikko introduced Timo to Erno Korpelainen, who was chosen to handle most of the recording, mixing and mastering of the album.[2]
The recording of "United Earth" began with drums at Studio Musica in June 2009. Soon after the guitars were recorded at the home studio of Erno, followed vocals. Johanna Vakkuri (ex-Ensiferum) lent her voice to Suzana, a female character in the story. The recordings were followed by several months of mixing and mastering.[3]
"United Earth" was released on 30 October 2010. While received with some publicity, it suffered from lack of promotion. The band never became a full line-up capable of live performances and disbanded.
In early 2012 Timo met Miguel Arcangel Fraticelli, who soon became Omniavatar's new drummer. They agreed to compose a successor to "United Earth" and start performing live shows. However, soon after the lineup disbanded
