Biography

Contrastic was founded in 1993.

In the summer of 1995, the boys recorded their first demo, Extreme Contrast, which was recorded live in SKZ Peruc.

In December 1995, they visited the Hostivař Studio and recorded their second demo, Necrostories, which was released in the spring of 1996 as a split cassette with Deaf & Dumb.

In November 1996, they went to Hostivař again and recorded new material, Thanatology Rhythms, which was released as a split cassette with Ingrowing in late spring 1997 by Shindy Productions. Bass on this material was recorded by Miroslav Ubias of Four Seats For Invalides. This recording received great reactions from fans and critics. At the beginning of 1999, they called in new reinforcements - a sequencer and a sound module, which added a whole new dimension to their brutal and technical music.

In August 1999, Contrastic finally made their self-titled debut, which was released in the summer of 2000 by Shindy Productions.

In 2001, Contrastic recorded 5 tracks for the five-way split album Czech Assault, which was released in 2002 by Relapse Records. Sometime in 2004, the last concerts took place and the band went to hibernation.

3/4 of the earlier Contrastic performed in the band Opitz and two members have played with Four Seats For Invalides.

In 2012, Opitz dissolved and it was time for a rebirth of Contrastic with a changed line-up.

In 2014, the band recorded a new split EP with Attack Of Rage.

In December 2020, the band published their second full-length album Mamun.
