Arkangel 's history dates back to 1978, when five students from the city of Valencia ( Venezuela ), that share similar musical tastes , decide to unite their efforts and talents to form a rock band with new ideas , that could boost the movement of rock and metal , which at that time was no more than more than an underground stream , in a country dominated by musical styles, such as disco music , salsa and other Caribbean purely commercial trends . Thus once cemented the band , it begins to make a series of concerts in the Midwest , capturing the attention of the national press ... and one day to the astonishment of the musicians , they learn that the newspapers began to call the city of Valencia, the capital of the Rock in Venezuela , and also find out that the band (called Power Age at the time) is considered the driving force and driving force of this phenomenon .

Following these events , Power Age is invited to participate in several music festivals in Caracas , capital of the country .
