Incandescence was officially founded in the end of 2010 by Philippe Boucher (Beyond Creation, First Fragment, Chthe'ilist, Décombres). A couple of months later, Francis Desrochers (Dystre Fjell) joined the project as the vocalist and lyrical composer.

The EP La Valse Des Ombres has been available since March 2012 and is now out of print. A new song, entitled "Dévorer Le Temps", is available on the net and it will appear on the upcoming first full-length album called Abstractionnisme at the end of 2013.

Shortly after the release of the EP, Philippe and Francis wanted to perform their material in puiblic, so they found session members.
