Biography

The Awesome Machine were a classic hard rock/metal band from Sweden. The band formed in 1996. Recorded their selftitled 10" with producer Roberto Laghi. After that Stefan Magnusson left the band and was replaced by Anders Wenander. With this lineup they recorded the cult demo (Doom, disco, dope, death and love) which gave them a contract with german label "People Like You". They recorded "it's Ugly or nothing" 2000 with King Diamond guitarist Andy La Rocque (who also played slide guitar on the track No Share). Other guest musicians were Anders Timmerås (keyboard on No Share) and Jörgen Petterson (harmonica on How am I to knew).

In 2002 their second album "Under the Influence" (produced by the band) was recorded in the old, well-known studio Nacksving. Guest musicians on this album was Ralf Gyllenhammar (of Mustasch growling on the songs God Damn Evil and Emotion Water), all keys by Anders Kwarnmark, Björn Gelotte and Jesper Strömblad (of In Flames outro guitar harmonies and lead on Under the Veil), Anders Iwers (of Tiamat lead guitar on Kick) and trumpet and sax on Still Got no Share pt. 2 by Ulf Sjölander.

In 2003 they once again entered the studio together with Roberto Laghi and recorded what would become their last full-length album "Soul of a Thousand Years". Guests this time were TAM's manager PJ (guitar on Deadly Caress), Björn Hedin (guitar on Soul of a thousand years), Tobias Olsson (of Boogieman drums in one channel on Ghost of Patroklos), Hasse Asterberg all keys and Roberto Laghi (guitarharmonies on Hunt you Down and Eating me Slowly and percussion on Deadly Caress and Eating me slowly).

They toured together with bands such as Dozer (S), Karma to Burn (US), Mushroom River Band (S), Mannhai (Fi), Boogieman (S), Pawnshop (No), Hoek (Ge) and gigged with many others.

After the last album Lasse left the band and was replaced (for one tour only) by Andreas Tomasson (who never became a full member) and then permanently by John Hermansen who did some gigs, tours and recordings (which sadly never was released but is to be heard on the bands website and myspace).

They officially broke up late 07
