Formed between Bryan Edwards and Brett Windnagle after their collaboration on Lascaille's Shroud second album, the general idea behind Soulmass (formerly Kingdoms Of Flesh) is to create music based around the video game series "Demon Souls/Dark Souls", dark fantastical settings with imagery and music to match. The speculative lore of these games is the main focus of the lyrical content.
