The vile entity known as Withershin was spawned in 2006. Firmly rooted in the acrid soil of the underground, the bands ambition was to explore and channel darkness and chaos with no limitations. It remains so to this day.

The first offering, Chaos Discipline, was recorded and released roughly a year after the bands cursed birth. A few months later Withershin recruited the powerful vocalist Nine and sealed a pact with American label Canonical Hours for the release of the debut album. The seals had been broken, the point of no return passed.

Ashen Banners, a powerful work of pure wrath and terror, was recorded in Studio Endarker in early 2008 and released in late May. The album was praised as a strong and promising debut, and following the release Withershin took their raging black metal to the stage.

A European tour with Diabolical soon followed, entitled The Final Elimination Of All Positive Emotions Tour, and Withershin further manifested the unstoppable, violent force that fuels the band.

In late 2009 the band entered Necromorbus Studio. The resulting EP, entitled The Hungering Void is a gateway to the blackest pits, where the adversaries of this world slither and writhe. And yet, in all its horrendous glory, it is only a taste of what is to come...

The fall of 2010 saw Withershin march victoriously through Russia, with performances in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and four other cities. The Sword And Chalice Tour 2010 will not be forgotten by those who witnessed it.

Live on stage Withershin is a ferocious and ruthless beast. Worshiping death in blood-smeared ecstasy, the bands dedication and conviction is evident in music and performance alike.

While some are illuminated by the black light, most will perish in its flames. The unwavering devotion to walk against all currents brings sight beyond the veil.
