Biography

In 2002 Lothlöryen was formed, releasing in the next year a demo entitled Thousand Ways To The Same Land, which was the first step towards the creation of the band's identity.

Featuring eight songs, it received great reviews from brazilian press, which led the band to be part of Valhalla Demo Section, a compilation made by Valhalla magazine, featuring the best unsigned bands from Brazil. Due to the good response, Force Majeure Records signed a deal with them to release its debut album.

The band's debut, Of Bards And Madmen, was released in 2005, leading the "crazy bards of brazilian metal" to be part of lists like "Best Band Of The Year", made by Valhalla, ...And Heavy Metal For All, Roadie Crew and also "Best Heavy Metal Album Of The Year" by Dynamite Independent Music Awards.

In 2008 the band released a new album, entitled Some Ways Back No More, via Die Hard Records, one of the biggest metal labels in Brazil, which received a better response than the debut, and was considered one of the greatest releases of the year.

Lothlöryen played with with great metal acts in all these years, including Symphony X, Sepultura, Shaaman, Korpiklaani, Torture Squad and Tuatha De Danann.

In 2012, a new album, conceptualized on 'madness and its historical influence all around the world', was recorded and produced at Casanegra Studios in São Paulo, intitled Raving Souls Society, released by Shinigami Records in Brazil and by PowerProg/Germany worldwide.

Lothlöryen received a lot of complements and excelent reviews from the entire Brazilian press, that defines the band as the "Crazy Bards".

Returning to the road, with fine gigs, including sharing the stage with popular heavy metal bands, like Korpiklaani and Arkona, and the presence in great Brazilian festivals in many States, Lothlöryen is marked as a familiar name in the heavy metal Brazilian scene.

The videoclips of "Face Your Insanity" presentes the current sound of Lothlöryen, with great audience and press acceptances.

The "Crazy Bards" were on tour over Europe, to promote the album Raving Souls Society, which had great acceptance by the crowd.

Back to Brazil, Lothlöryen released a fully remixed version of a previous album, now entitled Some Ways Back Some More, with new voices, keyboards and bass recording sessions.

The release has a musicvideo for "Hobbit's Song", which shows all the band enthusiasm and fun, like they are on stage.

This album was received with great praise all around the world:

Still in 2014, the single for the upcoming album (no name yet), has shown up the song "Time Will Tell", available for download.
