The Finnish heavy / power metal band Dyecrest was formed in 1993. They have previously existed under the monickers Fairytale (1993-2001) and Dyecast (2001-2003). They came second in the unsigned bands competition "Young Metal Gods Contest" and won a record contract with Noise Records. The band secure the opening slot on the W.A.S.P. European tour together with the British power metal band DragonForce. The tour began in Dublin, Ireland, on May 3rd, 2004.
