A little information on this festival.

Eistnaflug is an indoor festival held in Neskaupstaður, which stands in a beautiful fjord on the east coast of Iceland. It started out as a small one day metal festival but now, six years later, it has grown into a three day festival with metal, hardcore, punk, rock and indie bands sharing a stage. Eistnaflug is held annually on the second weekend of July, which is the 8th to 10th of July this year.

The venue has a capacity of 1.000 people and sports a large area in front of a big stage. We add to the venue's equipment a professional sound system and lighting equipment, and professionals handle the sound at all times.

The peaceful village of Neskaupstaður has about 1.400 inhabitants, but on the second weekend of July that number doubles. We are proud that the people of Neskaupstaður welcome us each year and that there has never been any trouble with the festival guests.

There are two campsites, one is set up right outside the town for people who like to party all night long. The other one is a quiet one for those who want to relax and sleep. There are two hotels in town, one at the venue and one located near the venue - as every other place in town is!

This year 30 bands are playing, both Icelandic and foreign. For this year's festival we are adding workshops and off-venue activities. Eistnaflug is without a doubt the biggest festival of its kind in Iceland. Tickets have sold out every single year and it is highly regarded as aperfect chance to enjoy heavy music surrounded by a beautiful landscape.
