British heavy metal legends Black Sabbath — featuring the original lineup of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward — will reunite for the first time in 20 years to play together on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, for one final show.

The event, dubbed Back to the Beginning, will also include performances from Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice In Chains, Lamb Of God, Anthrax and Mastodon.

After more than two years since its first announcement, heavy metal icons Black Sabbath are set to release the box set of Tony Martin-era albums, titled Anno Domini 1989-1995, on May 31st via Rhino Records. The box set includes remasters of 1989's Headless Cross, 1990's Tyr and 1994's Cross Purposes, while 1995's Forbidden was remixed by guitarist Tony Iommi specifically for this package. Former Black Sabbath frontman Tony Martin recently stated in an interview on 'The Ron Keel Podcast' that a new record deal has been secured to reissue his recordings with the band. According to Martin, who was the voice of Sabbath from 1987 to 1991 and again from 1993 to 1997, the box set is expected to arrive this year.

An audio stream of what seems to be a previously unreleased Black Sabbath song, called "Slapback", has been recently shared online on YouTube. It appears to be a rehearsal recording of a Ronnie James Dio-era track. Gary Rees, the stepson and executor of the estate of Black Sabbath's longtime keyboardist Geoff Nicholls, shared the track last Friday (March 5), writing in an accompanying message that he had found it on a cassette tape that contained other material recorded during Sabbath's 1979 songwriting sessions for the following year's album Heaven And Hell.

English drummer Bill Ward (of Black Sabbath fame) was recently hospitalized with unspecified heart problems and his new three-piece band Day Of Errors was forced to cancel their U.S. tour. All the tickets will be refunded. According to their statement, Bill Ward was hospitalized and is now recovering.

This clip will appear on the upcoming The End Of The End Blu-ray and DVD release, which will also be released on CD and vinyl on November 17th via Eagle Rock. Back in December, legendary Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi broke the news that doctors discovered new activity in his throat and they were unsure whether the lump was cancerous until he went under the knife. Fortunately, he has now revealed the operation he had to remove a lump from his throat was a success and it isn't cancerous. Iommi's cancer was declared in remission in mid 2016.

Although Black Sabbath have repeatedly stated that they are not going to tour anymore, guitarist Tony Iommi recently told Ultimate Classic Rock that he might write new music with the band again. When asked if there is a future for Black Sabbath beyond the farewell tour, Iommi stated: "Maybe. As I said, I'll be doing some writing. Maybe I'll be doing something with the guys, maybe in the studio, but no touring." So, Black Sabbath could be releasing new music in the future; at least the door is open.

Recently, a Virginia man was arrested by Howard County police after selling fake Black Sabbath concert tickets to a buyer in Elkridge. Shannon Michael Seeber, 34, of Manassas, was charged with theft scheme, forgery, possession of false government identification and drug possession.
