Black Sabbath - To Receive Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award
The metal legends Black Sabbath, who disbanded last year after a farewell world tour, are among this year's Lifetime Achievement Award honorees. The award, determined by the Recording Academy's National Board of Trustees, is presented annually to performers who have made impactful creative contributions to the recording field.
As well as Black Sabbath and George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic, Dionne Warwick, Donny Hathaway, Julio Iglesias, soul duo Sam & Dave and late jazz singer Billy Eckstine will also be receiving the award.
The ceremony will take place on May 11th, 2019 in Los Angeles.
Earlier this month, the full nominations for the 61st Grammys were announced.
