Abysmal Dawn - New Video Online
"My Own Savior", the new video from US metallers Abysmal Dawn, can be exclusively viewed at this location. The video was created by Rob Mensas as part of a fan video contest with Metal Injection.
Charles Elliot commented about the winning video: "What can we say other than this guy really impressed us with this video! The dark religious and industrial imagery of the clip fit the song and band perfectly and the look of it is just stunning. You even see the trademark Abysmal Dawn eclipse which was a nice touch as well. Great editing and post effects make this the winner by far. Truly proud to call this our official video. We're drinking and partying with this guy for sure when we see him on our tour with Obscura!"
"My Own Savior" comes off the band's latest album, entitled Leveling The Plane Of Existence, which was released on February 2011 via Relapse Records.

Abysmal Dawn - Finish Recording New Album
Abysmal Dawn recently wrapped up the recording and mixing process to their new album and follow up to 2008's Programmed to Consume.
Guitarist/vocalist Charles Elliott checked in as follows: "We've been working on and off in the studio on this album since May and now we're finally done. After a series of set backs, illness, and going through a world of shit in our personal lives, we had no choice but to make this record our revenge and the defining moment for Abysmal Dawn. We've had the finished mixes for about a week now and everyone that has heard it has been just blown away. We can already tell that this will be the record that the band will become known for. It's a very varied, extreme, technical, and melodic record and I can promise you that no one will be disappointed."
The yet-untitled album's drum parts were recorded at Trench Studios in Corona, CA with John Haddad (Phobia, Intronaut, Hirax). The majority of the sessions were produced and recorded by Mike Bear (Artisan, ex-Prototype), at Artisan Road Studios in Encino, CA and the CD was mixed and mastered by Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore, Hate Eternal) at Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, FL. An early 2011 release date is expected with additional recording / album details to be made available shortly.

Abysmal Dawn - Set To Enter The Studio
Abysmal Dawn will begin recording the follow-up album to their Relapse debut Programmed To Consume this May at Trench Studio in Corona, CA with John Haddad (Phobia, Intronaut, Hirax). The album will be mixed by Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal, Vital Remains, Cannibal Corpse) at his Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, FL. A fall release date is expected.
Abysmal Dawn's Charles Elliot commented on the upcoming album: "It's always great to work with John Haddad, whom we've worked with on our previous two releases. This time we thought we'd try something a little different though as far as the mix goes. After to speaking to Erik Rutan at great length we know he's the man for the job. He's a living legend and knows how real death metal should sound! Everyone in the band is really excited to be working with him and we know this is going to be our most crushing release yet. We've been hard at work demoing all the material before we enter the studio and things sound amazing already! This will be our catchiest yet most extreme and technical release to date.
We're also happy to be working with our new drummer Scott Fuller (ex-Havok, ex-Skitzo, ex-Ashes Of Icons). Scott comes from more of a thrash background but was born to play death metal and has never had the outlet for that until now. So far it's been a real pleasure to be in a band with someone with the same fire for this music as Mike and I again. A fitting replacement for Terry with even more chops to boot."
Additional recording details will be made available shortly. Audio samples and video from the band's Programmed To Consume album can be viewed online now via the Abysmal Dawn MySpace.
