The Vision Bleak - Enter The Studio Next Month

The Vision Bleak are busy pre-producing their third, as-yet-untitled album.
According to the band, the follow-up to "Carpathia" is going to be "more guitar-based, harder, but also more dramatic and melodic", promising their most sinister work to date. In early February, they will enter Klangschmiede Studio E for the fine-tuning of the recordings and the mix for an indefinite period of time.

Soilwork - Entering The Studio In March 2007

Sweden's SOILWORK check in with the following band update:

"First of all, we wanna say thanks for a great 2006. We had a great year and alot of great tours. It was fun to see you all out there. Since the release of Stabbing The Drama in 2005, we made about 250 shows for that album. Now its time to take a rest, but also to get focused on the upcoming album.

Right now we're working on the new songs. We have about seven songs ready and so far it sounds great. It will be a killer album. We will enter the studio at the beginning of March and, hopefully, the album will be out in late summer. We will keep you updated of the recording progress. And... regarding the guitarist situation... soon it will be decided who's gonna replace Peter. So, once again... thanks for the great support and... see ya in 2007."

As previously reported, Soilwork's guitarist, Peter Wichers, left the band in December 2005 to pursue a career in producing.

Symphony X - Another Update From The Studio

Symphony X's webmaster has posted another studio update online. The band are still working on their upcoming album 'Paradise Lost' which is supposed to be released some time in the first half of 2007.

Here is the posting, taken from symphonyx.com:

"Spoke to MJR for a while this afternoon, and here's what he had to say...

They had planned to start the mix on the CD this week, but were delayed a bit overall by the holiday earlier this week, so mixing has been rescheduled for January. Russ has 3 songs to finish (and was on his way to The Dungeon as Mike & I spoke) & hopes to be done with his recording by the weekend, and MJR has a couple more solos that he wants to record, as well as getting some loose ends tied up and polishing things up overall. They are still aiming for a Spring '07 release, & Mike had some pretty exciting things to say about the material, saying that it has something for old fans and new fans alike, so I'm confident more than ever in saying that the CD will be well worth the wait.

So there IS light at the end of the tunnel, & the band appreciates your patience greatly; stay tuned for more info soon!"

Arch Enemy - Will Enter The Studio Next March

Rehearsals have begun and some songs have been written for the next Arch Enemy album. The band has announced that they will be entering the studio in March/April next year to start recordings.

Here is a posting by guitarist Michael Amott taken from the band's official website: "We will be continuing to rehearse through the next few weeks, working on the new songs. We have already written some 7-8 life changing and ridiculously huge metal hymns, this is all in my own (not so) humble opinion of course! You'll see... :-) This stuff is SADISTIC!

Totally looking forward to 2007 and all that it will bring, some things are planned like the South American tour (which is going to be so much fun I'm sure!) and the studio time we have booked for March/April. I'm aching to get in the studio and lay these tunes down..."

More updates and news will be posted soon.

Behemoth - Enters The Studio; Reveals New Album Title

Polish extreme metal titans Behemoth entered the studio this week (December 11) to begin tracking their much-anticipated new album, "The Apostasy" (thesaurus definition of the word: the state of having rejected your religious beliefs or your political party or a cause ) which is currently set for a summer release. The new effort will be recorded in the band's hometown with mainman Nergal and longtime sound engineer Malta in the producer's chair.

Nergal (vocals, guitars) checks in with the following report: "We just demoed the whole new album and have 11 songs plus intro ready to go. It all sounds huge and our sound has never been this intense, while being very epic and catchy at the same time. It has all the Behemoth trademarks enriched with some fresh ideas. I guarantee some people are going to be surprised! Some songtitles include: 'Prometherion', 'Pazuzu (The Desert Storms Bringing)', 'Slaying The Prophets Ov Isa', 'Rome 64 E.V.', 'Arcana Hereticae', 'At The Left Hand Ov God', with more to follow. The recording sessions for 'The Apostasy' will take place in our hometown, Gdansk, in one of the best-equipped studios in Poland, Radio Gdansk. It has an old-school analogue Studer 24-track machine, which gives super unique tone to drum sound. I simply love it. It has the best mixing console, pre-amps and other shit available nowadays.

"It's no secret that Behemoth have been one of the busiest bands in the scene for last two years. We completed over 300 shows in support to our last record, 'Demigod', and have been in front of people's faces for a long time, so I felt that it was necessary to take a break. I thought that all of this activity might be too much, even for die-hard fans. I decided to focus on song writing and nothing else. I pretty much isolated myself from the whole scene for a few months and ultimately created a new record that is destined to become the definitive Behemoth release.

Pelican - Enter The Studio

Pelican will enter the studio next week to record a new full-length. Tracking will take place at Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago, IL with engineer Andrew Schneider (Cave In) at the helm. The effort will consist of roughly ten tracks, including "City of Echoes," "Blissin Concrete," "Dead Between the Walls," and "Spaceship Broken - Parts Needed."

Regarding the new material, the band states: "On a whole the songs are more concise and more aggressivebthan our prior work. Relentless repetition has taken a backseat to intensity and a desire to pack as many riffs as possible into each tune."

The album is tentatively slated for a May 2007 release via Hydra Head Records.

Elvenking - To Enter The Studio Next Week

Next week Folk/Power Metallers Elvenking will fly to Germany to Gernhart studios to record the drums for the band's next album. All the drum parts have been checked and everything's ready for recording. "Zender is hitting as hell and the groove is already there!" says the band. Elvenking will stay in Germany until the drumming is completed, and from there travel back to Italy to work on the last arrangements and lyrics. After that Nino Laurenne of Sonic Pump studios will set the basic sounds of the album and the other recording sessions will start.

Elvenking also says that they'll give updates as often as they can, with studio reports, pictures from their recording sessions as well as videos.

Here is a comment by guitarist Aydan: "What can I tell about the songs? One word: heavy!!! Be ready for the most
crushing Elvenking album to date, but with all the melody still there".

Vomitory - To Enter Studio In December

Swedish brutal death metallers, Vomitory will enter Leon Music Studios outside Karlstad, Sweden on December 3 to begin recording their sixth album. The band's statement goes as follows:

"This time we'll work with producer Rikard Löfgren, who is the founder/owner of Leon Music," the band said in a statement. "Rikard Löfgren is still a pretty unfamiliar name within the death metal scene. He mostly works with more commercial music but he is a great producer and has his roots in metal. We know the guy since ages and we have great confidence in him."
It's going to feel strange to do a new Vomitory album not working with our sidekick Henrik Larsson, but we feel it's time to try something new. Since Vomitory isn't exactly an experimental band, we feel that working in a new studio with a new producer is a good way of renewing the band. We have two weeks for the recording and one week of mix and mastering."

The as-yet-untitled CD is scheduled for release at the end of April 2007 through Metal Blade Records.
