Dying Fetus - Part Ways With Guitarist
Dying Fetus have posted the following update:
"Mike Kimball has resigned his position in Dying Fetus. Here is a statement from Mike: "This is easily the most difficult decision I've ever had to make in my life. I have had moments where I felt that it might be time to part ways with Dying Fetus but didn't want to accept it, out of love for performing as a musician, and of course being less than thrilled with the prospect of disappointing my band mates or the fans. Being in Dying Fetus has been an amazing experience, and I'm eternally grateful to the guys in the band (past and present), as well as all of our crew members, all the bands we have toured with, and most of all the fans for their support. Thank you all so much!"
We are now holding auditions, live or video. Tablature is available on dyingfetus.com under media. Learn the songs; "Praise The Lord," "Pissing In The Mainstream," and "Justifiable Homicide." Contact us here, serious inquiries only. Must have NO criminal record and valid passport. Send all videos to: Dying Fetus -- 643 Widener Lane -- Smyrna, DE 19977″

Dying Fetus - Replace Drummer
The following message was posted on Dying Fetus's official website:
"We would like to announce the addition of new drummer Trey Williams, from Baltimore, MD. We regret it has become necessary to part ways with Duane Timlin, however we thank Duane for his contributions to the band and we wish him the best in his future endeavors. This lineup change will not have any effect on our tour plans, which will go ahead as scheduled. Trey gave us a fantastic audition, we have seen firsthand that he has the professionalism and dedication we would expect. We look forward to our next tour plans with great confidence - we feel the fans will agree that this change will be good for the band and our live performances."

Dying Fetus - New Drummer
Dying Fetus have officially announced the addition of drummer Duane Timlin to their line-up. Here's a statement from the band:
"It's been a long year of searching, but we wanted to move forward in the certainty of having the right person for the group. Duane joins Mike Kimball, guitar, Sean Beasley, bass and vocals, and original member John Gallagher, guitar and vocals, to complete our 4-piece lineup. The band were already friends with Duane, and even toured with him when he played drums for Divine Empire, who supported Dying Fetus on our 2003 summer headlining tour. Duane submitted an impressive video audition as well as auditioning in person the weekend of May 13, and has demonstrated to us that he has the skills and dedication we were looking for! We want to thank everyone who auditioned or contacted us about the spot - we appreciate your consideration, talent, and hard work. We will announce further details about our recording and touring schedule soon. Keep checking back for recording dates in mid-summer and tour dates in late winter of this year."

Dying Fetus - New Material; Keep Looking Drummer
An update from the band was posted on Dying Fetus' Website:
"Apologies for the lack of updates, we know everyone is concerned about the drummer spot, our new album, touring, etc. First off we want to say we are anxious to record and tour after nearly a year off. The demos are going well, and we are spending extra time finalizing the music and composing the lyrics. Our tentative date to enter the studio to record the new album is mid-summer. Secondly, we encourage anyone who is interested in auditioning for the drummer spot to get in touch with us as soon as possible - although we have been holding out to find a permanent member, the show must go on and we have a contingent plan to hire a session drummer if necessary. As far as touring, for now we can only say that we have accepted some very interesting options for later in the year. We will announce names and dates once the details are confirmed!"

Dying Fetus - Erik Sayenga Leaves
Drummer Erik Sayenga has left DYING FETUS "due to circumstances beyond his control," according to an official statement.
Commented Erik: "DYING FETUS are a great band and I want to thank the other members of FETUS, the cool people we have met on the road and all the fans for the good times.I am unable to continue playing in this band but I wish DYING FETUS all the best of luck in all they do."
In other news, Erik's new project WARTHRONE will begin recording their debut five-song EP soon. Covenance - New Band With Ex Dying Fetus Members
COVENANCE is the name of a brand-new band formed by ex-DYING FETUS singer Vince Matthews and former MISERY INDEX members Matt Byers (drums) and Bruce Greig (also ex-DYING FETUS). The group, whose sound is being described as "melodic, brutal death metal" and unlike that of either DYING FETUS or MISERY INDEX, have just completed work on their first demo. An official web site, www.covenance.com, will contain additional information regarding the band's touring plans.

Dying Fetus - dismissed vocalist
On October 2, Dying Fetus dismissed vocalist Vince Matthews from the band. This action was taken due to a number of musical, professional, and personal reasons that we feel do not need elaboration at this time. However, Vince remains a long-time friend of several Dying Fetus members and we wish him the best of luck in the future. This change will not affect any of our present tour plans. We intend to continue with our current four-piece lineup, and we will handle the vocals accordingly (something we have done many times, as our Canadian fans already know).
