More recently, they also announced that they will play in their home country, an exclusive Norwegian show at next year's Beyond The Gates festival in Bergen! Norwegian black metallers Emperor are set to reunite in 2017 in order to play a few exclusive appearances, the first confirmed show being at the Brutal Assault festival in the Czech Republic. The band will play numbers from their highly-acclaimed 1997 record, Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, and will consist of band members Ihsahn, Samoth and Trym Torson, who was a member of the band up until 2007. These shows, however, do not give indication of whether or not Emperor are set to reunite as a permanent band.
