Engel - New Drummer Announced
Official press release
With 2010 already being an Industrious year for Engel with the release of their outstanding second Album Threnody launched first in Japan and soon to make its European debut the band are pleased to announce a new addition to the band line up with Jimmy Olausson now seated firmly behind the drum kit as a permanent member.
The departure of former drummer Daniel Mojjo Moilanen has been that of an amicable one and Engel wish him well for the future and thank him for his invaluable contribution over the last years.
Despite his young age Jimmy has already established himself as an outstanding musician most notably for his work with his former band Gothenburg based Marionette and is highly regarded as being one of the premier new talents to arrive on the Swedish Metal scene. Olausson has been playing drums from the age of 5 and from that first moment was immediately hooked and there was really nothing that could stop or curb his interest in drums with the experience being so memorable.
In a statement issued by Engel it reads as follows: "It is always difficult for any band when someone leaves and of course it is always difficult to find an ideal replacement but in this instance we are extremely honoured to have found Jimmy not just for his ability as an outstanding drummer but with an outstanding personality to match. His contribution to Engel already has been immense and refreshing as he brings something new and exciting behind the kit which was exactly what we have been looking for! Change will always be part of any bands growth and development but as always we are looking to the future and the continued success of Engel and with Jimmy Olausson we are more than confident that he is perfect in this role. It is already a pleasure to have him in our ranks!"

Engel - Part Ways With Bassist
Swedish band Engel have split with bassist Michael Håkansson.
Michael Håkansson states:
"To all you great people out there who has shown your big support and interest in my participation in Engel. I am sad to announce my departure from Engel. It hasn't been an easy decision for me to make... It was a really hard one but at this time I felt it was the right one for me to make. I am not leaving for another band or for any personal or business related issues within the band. Not at all!
It's been a blast to be a part of this fantastic band and one part of me would still like to be a part of Engel's future. For I see nothing but success for Engel, the potential has no limits with these guys. I've been given a once in a life-time offer that I just couldn't say no to. I am now leaving my other big dream in life.
I want to thank the wonderful guys in the band... Niclas, Mojjo, Marcus and Mangan… you guys rule! Thanks for 2 fantastic years together and all the fun we had during the recording of the album and the tours we did together.
And last but not least... Maria Ouelette of SPV, Nasrin, Peter, and Sascha of Pirate Smile. Thanks for great times together!"
The band comments:
"Final comment from us... We totally respect Michael's decision and wish him the very best in his future endeavors. Thanks for those years and all the laughs. Of course it's sad to lose a member but rest assured the Engel machinery is working on like before. "
