Armored Saint - Posted New Video Online

US heavy metal band Armored Saint recently revealed the new video for the track "Left Hook From Right Field". The clip was filmed on July 1 in the band's hometown with director Jeremy Schott of Mental Suplex. The song for this video comes off their latest album La Raza, which was released in March.

Vocalist John Bush gives us his description of the video for "Left Hook From Right Field": "BAD ASS!!! That's how I would describe this video. The photography is absolutely beautiful. Rene, the boxer, did a nobleman's job and is convincing as hell. Jeremy's team was awesome to work with and super efficient. Armored Saint was captured raw and with full power. Sometimes making a video, actually the majority of the time, making a video blows. Not this time!"

Bassist Joey Vera adds: "The video came out great and does justice to the song. We were going for a "Raging Bull" look and I think we captured the vibe for sure. Most videos are pretty boring to make but this one was actually fun. We spent some time shooting scenes "on the fly" and tried things out that were not in the story line, meaning we had a chance to improvise. The story line is a pretty good representation on the allegories that the lyrics paint. Good fun once again."

Greatest Metal Video Ever... So You Think Metal Can't Dance Edition

We're back, baby! Ready to cheer up/ruin your Sunday with another exiting edition of Greatest Metal Video Ever... Since it's been a while we picked not one but three awesome videos this time that have one peculiar thing in common: choreographed dance moves - oh yes we did! Because, y'know, dancing is metull!

Protest The Hero - Limb From Limb

Here it is. The moment nobody has been waiting for... a re-enactment of the Village People... or something equally heterosexual.

The world already knew the guys from Protest The Hero had a few dance routines going on - you ABSOLUTELY need to see this video too - but this is really something else. Appearing in everyone's nightmares from now on, enjoy the debacle that is "Limb From Limb"!

"Limb From Limb" comes off the band's latest album, Fortress, released in January 2008 through Vagrant Records.

Medeia - Descension 2115]

Medeia know how to move like Michael Jackson... and Run DMC, I guess. Anyway, there's something about this video that just screams metal... and it's not just the abandoned parking lot.

"Descension" comes off the band's most recent effort, Cult, released in September 2008 via Fullsteam Records.

Goldfrapp - Alive

And as a little bonus, here's a video of some black metal warriors dancing with hot chicks in aerobic outfits. Yeah, when's the next time you're gonna see a thing like that again? If you happen to be severely allergic to anything non-metal-related on a metal website, by all means, get fucked in the ear/turn off your speakers/don't click this link and move on with the rest of your day.

Thryce with your suggestions for next time's edition.]

Dawnbringer - Release New Album In September

US cult metal band Dawnbringer have completed work on their new album Nucleus, the follow-up to 2006's In Sickness And In Dreams. The album will be officially released on September 21st through Profound Lore Records.

Known as one of the metal underground's hidden gems and also known as one of the best American metal bands you haven't heard, Dawnbringer have been seen as one of the most startling and unique bands that the metal underground has ever produced.

Formed over 15 years ago by mastermind Chris Black, the band put out an EP followed by two killer and highly praised underground gems in the '90s, namely the Sacrament EP followed by the Unbleed and Catharsis Instinct full-lengths respectively.

And now Dawnbringer are on the brink of unleashing Nucleus, an album which will stand as one of the mightiest heavy metal albums you'll hear all year. While still incorporating many elements of metal , Nucleus showcases how traditional metal can uphold the classic heavy metal spirit (without regressing in an attempt to be "retro" or whatever) while at the same time come across as an offering that's forward-thinking and of course unique; an album which will help push the genre of heavy metal forward and help to lead the charge into metal's future.

Nucleus cover art] tracklist:

01. So Much For Sleep
02. You Know Me
03. The Devil
04. Swing Hard MP3]
05. Cataract
06. Like An Earthquake
07. All I See
08. Old Wizard
09. Pendulum

The Secret - New Album In September

Italy's crushing quartet The Secret are set to drop their upcoming Solve Et Coagula full-length via Southern Lord Recordings this September 28th.

The twelve hellish hymns embodied in Solve Et Coagula were captured by Kurt Ballou (Trap Them, Converge, Disfear) in his infamous Godcity studio, resulting in cavernous, earthmoving tonal supremacy. Each song preaches of loss of faith in all forms of religion and politics and a vile outlook on humanity as a whole. The album runs rampant with dismantling breakdowns, gargantuan, swelling riffage and jackhammer blastbeats, all empowered by the most shredding vocal attack.

While surely reminiscent of Converge, Cursed and labelmates Black Breath, The Secret integrate as much influence from filthy politi-crust acts, as well as metal into Solve Et Coagula's metallic surge. But no matter how you try to compare or categorize this highly lethal Italian export, the end result is certain; this is the sound of humanity's failure and defeat, embodied as pure aural rage.

The Secret have previously unleashed two full-length releases on now defunct Goodfellow Records (2004's Luce and 2008's Disintoxication), and have undergone countless lineup changes and setbacks over the past few years. The current lineup is inarguably the most devastating and concise to date, making Solve Et Coagula their most lethal assault yet.

Solve Et Coagula cover art] tracklist:

01. Cross Builder
02. Death Alive
03. Double Slaughter
04. Where It Ends
05. Antitalian
06. Weatherman
07. Pleasure In Self Destruction
08. Eve Of The Last Day
09. Pursuit Of Discomfort
10. Bell Of Urgency
11. War Desire
12. 1968

Anette Olzon - It's A Boy!

Back in March we reported about Anette Olzon's pregnancy... which means we also have to inform you about the outcome of this story, right?

So, yesterday afternoon, Friday July 30, at 4:28 pm Swedish time, the Nightwish vocalist gave birth to her second child (her first with current boyfriend and Pain bassist Johan Husgafvel). The baby boy is 52 centimeters tall and weighs in at 3930 grams. Olzon also has an eight-year-old son, Seth, with her now-ex-husband.

Do with all this information what you will.

Anette posted the following message on her blog today: "We have tried to get him out the natural way since tuesday and used different methods, but like with my first son, I didn´t get enough strong contractions so it was decided to finally get him out through a c-section.

We all are just fine but still in the hospital where we are resting and just being so happy to have this beautiful and precious boy with us. Life is so wonderful and I am so, so happy and just floating with joy."

Congratulations!

Autopsy - New EP Later This Year

West Coast gore legends, Autopsy, have completed the recording of their first tracks since officially reforming last year. The Tomb Within EP was recorded in mid-July 2010 at Fantasy Studios with Adam Munoz. The Tomb Within unites the original trio of Chris Reifert, Danny Coralles, and Eric Cutler, joined on bass by Joe Trevisano (ex-Abscess).

The new EP - the band's first in over a decade - consists of five new tunes of gore and depravity, and will be released on CD and 12" vinyl on September 13th through the Peaceville Records webstore, with a general release set for later this fall. Cover art is supplied by renowned fantasy/horror artist Matt Cavotta.

Autopsy issued the following statement about their reformation and the forthcoming EP: "As many of you know, for years it has been repeatedly stated that Autopsy was over with and done for good. While that was indeed true for a long span of time, it is no longer the case. Autopsy has come to the solid realization that the time is now right to resume their mission of gore soaked death metal brutality and to fulfill this mission with maximum intensity.

Make no mistake about it, Autopsy is not about reliving the past, basking in nostalgia or riding on efforts from years long gone. The band is hungry to devour fresh minds and souls and has been amassing an arsenal of new and deathly material to unleash upon those who also hunger for such brutality. The surgical instruments are being sharpened and a pure death metal assault of the most horrific order is underway as you read these very words. On behalf of the band, thanks goes out to all who relented and simply would not allow this beast to remain in the grave. Your persistence will be met with unspeakable and unapologetic sonic atrocities. Let the blood flow...."

The Tomb Within cover art] tracklist:

01. The Tomb Within
02. My Corpse Shall Rise
03. Seven Skulls
04. Human Genocide
05. Mutant Village

Incantation - Cancel This Weekend's Live Appearances

US death metal act Incantation has been forced to cancel their appearances at this year's Stonehenge and Mass Deathstruction festivals. Incantation frontman John McEntee has issued the following statement, explaining the cancellations:

Between us and our booking agent we did all we could to try to make the fest appearance happen, but only after many attempts we had to come to the conclusion that there was just no way to make it happen.

We want apologize both fest organizers for giving us this opportunity. we also want to thank all our supporters that were looking forward to our performances. we know that both promoters are very stand up people, and I'm sure both fest will be a great success."

Incantation is still scheduled to appear at the Hostile City Death Fest in Philadelphia, PA on August 27th as well as the Noctis IV Metal Fest in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on September 24th.
