The Local is reporting that Burzum's Varg Vikernes has been found guilty by a French court of inciting racial hatred and glorifying war crimes through his blog postings. His trial started in June after being postponed last year. Vikernes was originally arrested in 2013 on suspicion of planning a terrorist act but released from custody shortly after. He was tried on incitement charges related to anti-Semitic and xenophobic postings on his blog.

BBC News is reporting that Burzum's Varg "Count Grishnakh" Vikernes's trial in France has been postponed to June 2014 after his lawyer requested more time to read documents and prepare his defense today. He is facing charges of inciting racial hatred and exalting war crimes on the Internet this time. On his blog, where he posts frequently, Vikernes confirmed that he would be in Paris for the trial on October 17th.

UPDATE on 17.07.2013 [Thanks to Carl Berg]: According to Euronews, there doesn't seem to be much evidence suggesting that Varg Vikernes was planning any sort of terrorist action. It seems that the arrest was based on a "blog post" made by Vikernes after the fatal derailing of the Bretigny train last week which contained ant-semitic remarks. The new update also confirms that the police custody of Varg Vikernes and his French wife Marie Cachet arrested on Tuesday in southwestern France has been extended by 24 hours, judiciary sources told news agency AFP.

German metallers Varg have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"The bloodthirsty Viking metallers Varg announce the title of their new upcoming album Wolfskult", which will be hitting stores in early 2011 via Noise Art Records.

In the same breath vocalist Freki and bassist Managarm pronounce a very special event for fans of the wolfshorde:

"We invite all fans and supporters of the Wolfskult to a prelistening at our place. On Saturday 11th september we will all meet at 96450 Coburg, Germany, to listen to the album and rate it in detail.After that we will check out our rehearsal room, have some good old german beers and do some pub crawling in the evening. With the scream "Wir sind die Wölfe" ("We Are The wolves"), which we will record all together in a small recording studio in Coburg you will become a part of the same-named song on the new album. Varg Vikernes has in an interview with the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet confirmed that he has been released from prison.

He was released a couple a weeks ago after 16 years in prison, and is now living at a small farm in Telemark with his French wife and 18 months old son as planned when he was granted parole (see here).
