Wardruna - Debut New Single

Wardruna are releasing the skaldic composition "Hibjørnen", taking on the perspective of the hibernating bear. The song, which appears on the group's upcoming Birna album, takes a simpler and more direct approach with “Hibjørnen” voice, poetry and the lyre lead the way, offering a contemporary take on the ancient skaldic craft that once lay at the heart of Norse oral traditions.

Wardruna - Sixth Full-Length Offering Announced

On January 24, 2025, Norwegian ambient folks Wardruna will out out their sixth long player entitled Birna. It will be released worldwide by Sony Music and By Norse Music. Details and video for the first single, "Himinndotter", can be checked out below. The video clip was filmed in Rondane National Park in Norway and once again directed by Wardruna's longtime collaborator Tuukka Koski.

Lloth - Reveal Cover Of Wardruna’s 'Helvegen'

Greek black metal band Lloth have released a lyric video for the song “Helvegen”, originally written and composed by Norwegian folk legends Wardruna. It is a promo track, signalling the arrival of the band's upcoming album, entitled Archees Legeones. No other details have been disclosed yet regarding this release.

Wardruna - Drop 'Andvevarljod' Single

The newest music piece from Wardruna - "Andvevarljod" - is out now! The song is a central piece on the new album Kvitravn. It explores the Nordic deities of fate; the Norns, the spinning of life threads and the Norse and Sámi common idea that a person's spirit is connected to wind, both before and after birth. The song features guest appearances by a small group of prominent Norwegian traditional singers, Kirsten Bråten Berg, Sigrid Berg, Unni Løvlid, Ingebjørg Reinholdt alongside our own Lindy-Fay Hella. Kvitravn album is due January 22, 2021.

The third Wardruna album is upon us. The Norwegian folk duo, led by Einar Selvik, announced the release of their third studio album, Runaljod - Ragnarok, on October 21st.
