Entitled Freedom, is has been set for June 8th 2022 official release (Frontiers Music Srl will handle the release in Europe, United Kingdom, and Japan; BMG will release the album in the rest of the world). Produced by Michael Parnin and mastered by both Bernie Grundman and Pueblo Audio gear designer Scott Sedillo, the still-untitled record will be the band's first studio album since 2008's XV.

Almost four years has passed since Alice In Chains released their latest album Rainier Fog, but they don't seem to be slowing down at all, as vocalist William DuVall recently told Ireland's Overdrive that the band is intending to work on their next album later this year. It will be the fourth Alice In Chains studio album in a row to feature DuVall, who replaced the band's late original frontman Layne Staley more than 15 years ago.
