Sanctity - Three New Members

The following Sanctity update by original members Jeremy London (drums) and Zeff Childress (guitar) was posted on the band's MySpace page:

"Hey guys, this is probably long over due. So here is the rap about whats been going on with us. WE DID NOT BREAK UP!!! Yes we are still together. Basically to make a long story short Jared had a baby and decided to step down as our singer/guitar player. Derek as well decided to leave for his own personal reasons, there was no bad blood with anyone, those guys are our brothers and we had a good run with them. So now for the future of Sanctity, WE have three new members Scott Smith on bass, Zach Jordan on rythem gutar, and Nate Queen filling the shoes of Front man, we will have new pics up soon for everyone to see as well as some new songs once we are done. Zeff and I have never been happier with a lineup before, it's sad to see the guys go, but it's inspiring to have these new guys with us. We can't be happier with the response and support we have had from everyone so far. Make sure to stay updated with all our new stuff."

Catamenia - Part Ways With Vocalist

Bravewords is reporting that, Catamenia have parted ways with singer Olli-Jukka Mustonen. Guitarist Ari Nissilä has issued the following update:

"The fear that something negative will happen turned into reality at Montreal when we realized that Olli, our lead vocalist, won't show up there. Unfotunately he missed his flight at Paris CDG airport, but we did hope that he could fly to Montreal next day with reserved ticket, but this never happened.

Now, we had a nightmare staring us. We didn't came all the way to Canada just to inform that this is it, we can't do the tour. When the first shock was over, we start to seek the solution. Since I was doing vocals on rehearsals just for this kind of 'impossible situations,' we wanted to give a shot for it, so I'm going to do lead vocals.

So, the show went better than none of us dared to hope, and so did the second, the third and so on. People who were listening our concerts took me open minded as a lead vocalist... and... they liked what they heard.

This misfortune led to conversation about the band's future. The solution is that the whole band wanted to me be as lead singer from now on. I am speechless about this and still try to get it in my mind what the hell is happening. One thing is sure? I will give that 110 percentage and my heart for this band, like I have done all the years I have lived with Catamenia. Now there is just more responsibility, but the train is very same, so is the man.

Guys of Catamenia did everything that I won't break before the first show doing lead vocals. These guys trusted, helped and supported me the way that I still wonder how can I thank them enough. The pressure was so huge that I would never make it without these guys.

Now after few days in home solving things in my head, I have one thing to say to these guys? This band is my family! You guys are the brothers I never had! I will do everything for you ? without any doubt. Thousand thanks for you for your trust and support!

For fans... We hope that you look this as a new page in Catamenia 's path and be open-minded. We will guarantee you that with your trust and help, the triumph of Catamenia is just about to begin! WE WILL MANAGE, is our motto all together.

For Olli... We really do hope all the best for you in the future and we hope from our hearts that we can stay as friends as before because you can always consider us as your friends."

As previously reported, Link], the band will enter the studio in July to record their new album "VIII".

Aesma Daeva - Guitarist Earl Root Has Passed Away

R.I.P. Earl Root 1962 - 2008

Earl Root was born in 1962 and for the rest of his life embraced music with passion and enthusiasm. He was raised in Edina MN. Growing up in a working class family he developed a strong work ethic and thrived on a full schedule that was as he said "bordering on chaos."

Earl formed the band Disturbed in the mid 80's, they played and toured constantly with acts such as Sepultura, and Death. A key contributor to the mid west Metal Scene Earl helped form the first Milwaukee Metal Fest, and for 27 years he ran The Root of all Evil Radio show at KFAI. Where he helped promote, interview and break many new underground acts.

Earl came home in the sense of the word when he met his wife Nancy. Nancy became an important support for him throughout his life. Together Earl and Nancy held memorable 4th of July parties, and Halloween was an event that was not taken lightly at the Root household.

Well on tour he could often be found in pawn shops finding collectable vinyl or as he described it to the younger generation "Really big cd's that sound better than cd". In 1990 his passion for collecting brought him to open Root Cellar Records A premier Vinyl record store. To date much of his collection remains and can be bought through his family's E-Bay Store.

In 2001 Earl joined Aesma Daeva as a primary rhythm guitarist. He continued to play guitar with the band throughout his chemo therapy, radiation and stem cell treatments. In 2007 with bladder cancer, and a kidney stent Earl completed a full U.S. and Canadian tour with Aesma Daeva.

Earl J Root passed away on Saturday May 24th 2008 at his home in Minneapolis with his wife Nancy at his side. He died of complications from his 10 year contention with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He is survived by his wife Nancy and son Arron.
