Zonaria - Sign With Century Media Records

Token from the Century Media newsletter:

Swedish death/black hopefuls Zonaria have inked a worldwide deal with Century Media Records. The group has just entered the studio to record its second full-length album, tentatively due later in the year. Be sure to check out http://www.myspace.com/zonaria - but, be prepared for a sonic beat down.

Commented the band: "It is amazing how all this hard work paid off, and we can guarantee you great things this year and beyond. It has been a dream for all of us since we first started listening to metal. We listened to bands like Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity, Iced Earth and Dream Evil when we were just around 13-14 years old. If someone would have told us that we are going to be signed to the same label back then I'm pretty sure none of us would have believed it. Another equally great thing is that we are about to enter Studio Fredman (!), the studio where almost any great band worth mentioning has recorded their albums, to record our follow-up to "Infamy And The Breed". If any recording studio has been an unreachable dream for us so far ? it has been this one! So everyone, expect great things!"

Sinner - New Album Details

Sinner have issued the following update on their official MySpace:

"The final part of the recording saga of "Crash & Burn" was delivered to the record company over the weekend. The master of the Limited Edition, with two brandnew bonus tracks, the video clip for the song "Revolution" & the digipak desgin.

The final album contains 11 tracks and here's the tracklist:

01. Crash & Burn
02. Break The Silence
03. The Dog
04. Heart Of Darkness
05. Revolution
06. Unbreakable
07. Fist To Face
08. Until It Hurts
09. Little Head
10. Connection
11. Like A Rock

The album was produced by Mat Sinner & Henny Wolter @ The House Of Music studios and aside of the band, there are guest appearances by Dirty Sanchez (percussion), Dennis Ward (backing vocals & percussion & Nena (backing vocals). The Limited Edition will be delivered in a nice digipak and includes two bonus tracks "One Night Only" (written by Mat Sinner & Magnus Karlsson) and "Fast Decision 2008", yes THE Fast Decision - created under bizarre circumstances, as AFM Records A&R representant Markus & drummer Klaus forced Mat in the studio, to record a new version of the forgotten jewel again. Mat was irritated about their sick idea first, but after some shots of booze, Mat agreed to sing this song for one last time. Finally, we've added the funky video clip for the song "Revolution" to the Limited one.

Please check the report from Powerplay of the Listening Session & "Crash & Burn"

The band is totally satisfied with the final outcome and the work & motivation of the entire team, incl. engineer Dennis Ward, mixer Achim Koehler & studio owner Alex Kilb! Mat thanks especially his writing partners Henny, Igor & Magnus for the friendship and the great tunes and to Klaus & Christof for the great vibe & rocking to the max!

We will release the first single from the album "THE DOG" for a FREE download soon, right here and on our My Space pages with some more audio samples from the album!
Next week, we will update the page with the album cover-artwork!

AFM Records will release "Crash & Burn" on September 19th with a tour following asap to support the release!"

Burzum - Varg Vikernes Allowed Day Passes

The website of Burzum's Varg Vikernes, who is currently serving a 21-year sentence for murder at Tromsø Prison in Norway, has been updated with the following message:

"Although Varg has been denied parole (in June), he is allowed to leave the prison for a while to walk aroud Tromsø and visit his family: his mother, his wife, a one-year-old son and a fifteen-year-old daughter. Varg's wife is now pregnant and they both are waiting for an addition to the family. Varg owns a small farm in Telemark (Norway), where he is planning to move as soon as he leaves the prison. Thus added several new photos done by Ingun Mæhlum."

"I'm ready for society ? and I have been for many years," Vikernes told the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet in a brand new interview which was published on July 6. "I have learned from my mistakes and become older. Now I just want to be together with my family. My mind has never been in prison; I think all the time about what I should do on the day that I am released."

"I have barely seen my son since he came into the world. Even though I hear his voice on the phone almost every day, it is very tough to not be present while he is growing up. I miss my family. And I look forward the day that I could work on my farm, create music, write books and be with the wife and kids around the clock ? and live a normal life. I have received tremendous support from my family. It means a lot."

Suicidal Angels - Working On New Material

Suicidal Angels have issued the following update:

"We gladly inform you that Suicidal Angels are spending their time rehearsing new songs for their second full length album due in 2009. So far we have 5 songs ready and they mean serious thrash business! The new record will feature fast and aggressive thrash tunes like the first one, but rest assured we won't create an exact copy of "Eternal Domination"! The new tunes are shaping up with interesting differences compared to the E.D songs and we are all very pleased with the outcome.

What's more, Suicidal Angels are working on a European tour in Winter, when they will present some of the new tunes, plus a concert in their hometown, Athens, sometime soon! Stay tuned for more information, as the plans to hit the stage again are in motion!"

Dark Empire - New Members Announced

USA Progressive Powet Metal band Dark Empire have issued the following update:

"I'm really pleased to announce that we can name the new drummer and bass player for Dark Empire. Filling in the long vacant bass position is Randy Knecht, and taking up the drum position is Omar Davila. I was not expecting to find two musicians that fit the same vision and drive for Dark Empire that I have, not to mention the immense talent that I would expect from anyone involved in this band, in such a short span of time. I guess thats how luck plays things out sometimes.

So, everyone welcome Randy and Omar to the Dark Empire family! We cannot wait to tear some faces off this August!"
