Eidolon - Progress Of The Upcoming Album
The band posted the following update concerning the recording of the new album and other issues:
"Hey there!
Just a little update to let you know that i am about half way through the recording of my guitar tracks for the new album and (aside from a few computer problems that will be fixed this weekend) things are sounding great!
Adrian will start his first 3 bass tracks this coming thursday (may 5th, Shawn's b-day!) which im sure will sound awesome, as we are using a couple new pieces of gear for this recording which are very cool! speaking of which, i have some more new toys (man, it's like xmas every day around here lately. WOOOOO HOOOOO!!!!) for the studio, which i will use for some of my recordings along the way.
I will be leaving for the European Festival tour with Megadeth at the beginning of june, so i must finish all of the bass tracks and main guitar tracks before the end of the month, at which point i will send all the files to Nils in norway for vocals.
As i have mentioned before, i'm Really not sure when the album will be complete. we are looking at the beginning of 2006.
talk soon.
Glen"

Celtic Frost - Demo Song Are Finished
Tom Gabriel Fischer posted the following update on his blog:
We finished the demonstration songs yesterday. They will be used for various industry purposes. We focused entirely on heavy material, and these songs are a clear indication of what the album is going to be like, they are dark, ferocious, sometimes very unique, and very intense. The full album will be more varied, but the general direction is obvious.
All the recordings were made at our rehearsal studio, and we used live versions for most of the tracks. We spent Sunday mixing at Oakland Recording in Winterthur, Switzerland. Erol engineered, and Martin and me managed to annoy him constantly with our demands/comments/immaturities.
Almost everything came out as intended. The only song that doesn't yet work is "Os Abysmi vel Daath". This is a bitter pill to swallow, for it is one of our earliest dark songs for the new album, and we had a lot of faith in it. We will have to go back and put some very concise work into it. The song seems so simple, and yet it is very complex and has managed to defeat us every step of the way so far.
The other songs of the demo sound extremely Celtic Frost to me, in details sometimes astonishingly close to "Morbid Tales" or "To Mega Therion". "Ain Elohim" and "Temple of Depression" are perhaps my favourites among these songs. Although it is a new song, the title and some of my contributions to "Temple of Depression" go back to the original Celtic Frost of many years ago.
If all goes according to plan, Martin is going to pick up a well-known Swedish producer from the airport in just a few hours. We'll talk for a day about a possible collaboration, and he'll hear almost the entire album on Tuesday.

Disillusion - Found New Bassist
The band sent the following message about the new bassist and some more update:
"Hello everyone,
As you might know, Disillusion have locked themselves up in the new building of Salvation Recording to write and record the follow-up to Back To Times Of Splendor since march of this year. The latter surely is not an easy job to do, but things and material are coming along very well, making the pressure appear less, day by day. Anything more about the new songs would simply be too early.
Instead we have other news: It is very special for us to announce that the search for a bass player that has been continuing since 1996 has finally come to an end - meaning Disillusion have found the right one! His name is Ralf Willis; coming from Brooklyn / New York Ralf decided to be part Disillusion after he heard about the band and our vain search for a fourth member when he was in Germany some months ago. We actually did only one rehearsal together and things were settled - Ralf moved to Leipzig and now is with us since March. By now, he already knows all songs.
Willis: "Not being a person of many words, to put it simply, this shit can be finger-breaking AND sensitive in the same song. This is expressing what I want to express."
Unlike with the last record, Disillusion will not take a live break this time. So, the band will appear at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig on May 15, being headliner of the Metal Stage at the Anker / with Dark Suns, Autumnblaze and Klimt. The show will include the first appearance of Willis on Bass
and a special Back To Times Of Splendor Video and Dance Performance by the dancer Natalie (www.natalietanzt.de). Unfortunately, there are no tickets available for Sunday only.
More upcoming dates are to be found at the Disillusion website www.disillusion.de, among them 3 dates in the Netherlands and a show in Switzerland!
So far so good, back to song writing!
Talk to you soon,
Disillusion."

Solefald - New Album Update
According to Season Of Mist, SOLEFALD is close to completing their new album Red For Fire, Black For Death. Garm of ULVER fame will be making a guest appearance on the album, playing the part of Loki. Solefald masterminds Cornelius and Lars have issued the following statement with regards to the new material:
"Solefald was experimenting when everybody was being true. Now that things are changing and that we've pushed the experiment quite far already, we wanted Red For Fire, Black For Death to be our attempts at being true. This will be a True Nordik, Viking Metal album. Garm's the closest incarnation of Loki I know, there's this tricker, malice thing to him really - he fits the role perfectly! A few selected journalist were invited to a listening session during Inferno this year - they were in for a shock, and the reactions were more than positive."
Red For Fire, Black For Death is scheduled for release on Season Of Mist this fall.
