Stratovarius - Guitarist Checks In From Tokyo

Stratovarius Has Wrote The Following Message On There Official Website:

Things didn't start the smoothest way at the airport. After I entered the cockpit it was evident that one engine had a small fuel leak, so they tried to fix that. It wasn't possible, so everybody back to terminal. They got another plane and we were on our way with 2.5 hours delay. The take-off was amazing. I just watched in awe while the pilots did their thing with hundreds of knobs. Some of them I knew from my simulator experiences. It was really cool to be there in both take off and landing and gave me even more confidence together with my simulator experiences that flying is a really safe way to travel.

So we arrived to Osaka at 11 in the morning, two hours later than planned. Everything is always so cool here; 5 star hotels, the schedules are always holding, people are nice and friendly and the fans shower us with gifts. It's weird, but we were here a bit more than a year ago and now we are selling more tickets even without new album.

First show went really well. We were a bit nervous because we hadn't been playing any shows in seven months, but it was just great. The place was called Big Cat and it was the second hottest club I have played in. The temperature on stage was close to 55 Celsius. Poor Jörg. Poor TK. Despite the heat, the Osaka audience once again gave us a GREAT welcome. Then after the show signed some autographs, back to hotel and to dinner with the promoter to a Korean barbeque. Jens was getting really drunk and showed his usual antics (unfortunately I didn't bring my video camera there). I don´t know what the locals think when they hear in Japanese 'I want to fuck your dog' or 'I want to shit on your ancestors,' but maybe they saw the humour. I certainly did and I can never get enough of this genius guy.

In the morning a bullet train (300 km/h) ride to Tokyo and I just came back from a radio interview with TK and I´m typing this in my room with a view to a city that is 100 km in diameter and has 17 million people. Tomorrow a new show, all okay here, hope there too."

Signing out,
Timo

Stratovarius' remaining Japanese dates are as follows:

24 - Tokyo, Japan at Liquid Room
25 - Tokyo, Japan at Liquid Room (Finland Fest)

Nightwish - And The New Singer Is...

... Anette Olzon! In case this name doesn't tell you anything, here are a few facts about her:

Birthday: 21 June 1971
Country: Sweden

Musical background:
Was raised in a musical family and been singing since childhood. After she turned 13, she started competing in several talent shows. She joined her first real band when she was 17, it was a cover band and all the other musicians were older. After playing cover songs, she joined a band called Alyson Avenue, first just as a studio singer, later as their leading lady. They've released 2 albums since 2000.

At the age of 21, she played the leading role in a rock opera/musical called "Gränsland" in Helsingborg. After that she got in to the Balettakademien in Gothenburg. In addition to the already mentioned, she's been in several other bands over the years, sung in choirs, done studio work for various projects and even occasionally been a wedding singer. Recently she sang a duet with Michael Bormann (ex-Jaded Heart-singer) on his album "Conspiracy".

Primal Fear - Henny Wolter Re-joins Band

The following statement has been posted on the band's offical website:

"Yes, after a long discussion about the future of Primal Fear, we've decided to bring Henny Wolter back to the band. After a four year break, Henny takes over the guitar duties together with Stefan Leibing, who played most of the guitars on the new album "New Religion".

We decided us against a brandnew face, because Henny is back ready & smoking. Henny's departure 4 years ago was in a very friendly way and the guys stayed in contact during his abscence. Henny did a fantastic job on the new Primal Fear recordings and the following Sinner tour. We are proud to have the riff master from Hannover back in our ranks! Henny will make his comeback with the band on the next show on June 30th in Germany. Welcome Back, Henny!"

Dismember - New Touring Drummer Revealed

According to Sweden's Close-Up magazine, long-running Swedish Death Metallers Dismember have tapped drummer Thomas Daun (ex-Repugnant, Insision, Subvision) for their upcoming European tour.

Dismember last month announced that it has parted ways with longtime drummer Fred Estby. "My decision to put my family in first hand makes it impossible to keep on touring and commit to the band full-time," Estby said in a statement. "I want to thank all the fans, friends, bands and all the other cool people I've met through the years and I wish Dismember all the best in the future."

Dismember is currently in the process of writing new material and "this sad loss will not interrupt any future plans in any way," the band wrote on its web site. "The commitment to keep on playing is stronger than ever!"

Dismember's latest album "The God That Never Was", was released in February 2006 via Regain Records. The follow-up to 2004's "Where Ironcrosses Grow" was once again produced by Estby at Sami Studio in Stockholm. The group's current lineup includes Matti Kärki (vocals), David Blomqvist (guitar), Martin Persson (guitar) and "newcomer" Tobias Christiansson on bass.

Nu.Clear.Dawn - Busy Working New Album

Syria's promising Progressive Metal upcoming talent Nu.Clear.Dawn have updated their official website with the following fresh news:

"We've been too late from the last update that we had so hope will be always on touch as we can, we are so sorry.

Here we come again telling too many points about the incoming album.
Nu.Clear.Dawn has still progressing and working on the second album just like before in their rehearsal studio and soon the band will make the deal with the label for recording the incoming album.
So as we know the band it's still playing classical progressive metal, but this time will be more classical from the first album and its will be more heaviest and more darkest composing and little oriental atmosphere talking about the Syrian civilizations.

Here we can tell you the scheduled for every member of the band:

Aram finished recording the album with a new band from Damascus and soon they will release the album, and also he making some concerts with Jack Power,
