Shakra - New Deal With Label AFM Records

Shakra are getting reading: one, two, three, attention!

In Switzerland time is passing by a bit slowlier than in rest Europe ?

Not at all ! Especially in these days the Swiss guys from Shakra are showing us professionally how to get everything to the point.

We are proud to announce that the dynamic hardrockers have found a new home with AFM Records. Some days ago Nils Wasko and Sandra Eichner (AFM, middle of picture) met the guys from Bern to sign the contract. The ink on the contract has just dried, as the band is already on the run again : as a first taste to give for the new album (being released on 3rd October) Shakra are playing this year's Sweden Rock Festivals as well as the Spirit Of Music Open Air in Uster/Switzerland (with Iron Maiden !).

More information you can read on the freshly opened homepage

Heathen - New Song To Download

In their forum, Bay area thrashers Heathen have posted a link to their new song, Arrows of Agony. It's still a rough mix of what should be in their upcoming album.

Heathen had previously posted Dying Season, first song (rough mix) out of their new material.

Both songs are available here:

The Dillinger Escape Plan - Shows To Be Canceled

Dillinger Escape Plan have been forced to cancel part of their upcoming tour due to numerous injuries within members of the band. Guitarist Brian Benoit who recently underwent major surgery last December aggravated his shoulder on their last American tour. The band with Brian's blessing recruited ex Fenix TX guitarist James Love to fill in dates until Benoit was fit enough to return to the fold. However the night before the band left for Europe founding member Ben Weinman was involved in an automobile accident that left him in hospital. Undeterred Dillinger decided that cancelling shows was for other bands and Ben literally went from the Hospital to the airport.

However during the bands show in Madrid Spain at the Festimad Festival it became apparent that all was not well with Ben. He blacked out at one point during the set (as a result of injuries sustained in the accident) and the band had to cut their set short as a result. On doctors orders Ben has to return home for two weeks of rest

Ben Weinman commented "Dillinger are not the kind of band who cancel shows without good reason and unfortunately I have a bad reason - I'm fucked"

Silent Scythe - Disbands

The following message has been posted by Tommi (Guitars) on Silent Scythe's official website:

"SILENT SCYTHE IS NO MORE! Silent Scythe has been disbanded due to commitment-issues. Unfortunately this means that "Born Into Bondage" won't see the light of day. I wish to thank the fans who actually believed in this crazy circus, contrary to some bandmembers. It feels strange to write this when we were just voted best new band of 2004 in brazilian metalmagazines. But, hey, I've certainly learned not to put this much trust in someone elses hands again. Before I forget: We would like to thank the people who came to our last gig may 20th, YOU GUYS KICKED ASS!!! So this is Tommi, Fredrik, Oge, Peter & Johan signing off!

"I travel within
Let the longest journey begin
Dissect what I feel
Till there´s nothing more to conceal

Stare into the cold abyss
It stares back into you
The shackels of denying bliss
Repress the haunting truth

Dreams come true but only for a few
You are free to do as they tell you
You are free to be: Born Into Bondage"

Cheers! C'ya under the table

Tommi"

Konkhra - Back To Bussines

The band posted the following update message on their website:

"We are calling off the break. We have been reduced to a trio as Kim has left the band. We are going to continue as a three piece but we will get someone to help fill in the blank spots live, as well as on record. Capacities seem to be abundant in this department and we are going for the most obvious solution to us.....

We are releasing REALITY CHECK in Australia through Ward69records. We are going to tour this coming fall down under to support the release, the first show we have confirmed is the OVERCRANKED FESTIVAL in British Colombia on the 19th of November.. This means that we will be ready for live shows from 1.nov till 12th, and from 26th to around Christmas. We have TBA shows already in ITALY and DENMARK in this period. So If you promote South America get in touch, we are fucking ready. We have had tours blown there since ´96 so lets get it done...and: it would be nice to have finally played on every continent besides the south pole.

NEW MATERIAL:

We have been writing a good part of an album. We are just not finished yet. We will have to go back and touch up on stuff as we decide who will play with us on the next record, which is something we will settle in the coming months. We want this next record to be the best one yet.

The next record has been given the working title "Doctrines of Death". And if you´re looking for keyboards or girly choruses you can go be modern someplace else. If we want texture of the sorts we will get 40 fat monks to go: HHHHHEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLL..........

RECORD DEALS:
We are still currently unsigned and licensing REALITY CHECK ourselves. We have not decided how we will release the next album. (Maybe we can score with Fast Beat Records, who are setting up a promising shop in this country....) Or how about OLD SCHOOL METAL RECORDS. Well, we ust like the sound of the name....anyway:

This is what Ward69records had to say:
One of Europe's if not the world's leading Death Metal bands 'Konkhra' are releasing their latest LP 'Reality Check' in Australia through Ward69Records. Due for a national release in August."

Mannhai - Pasi Koskinen Joins The Band

The band announced, in the following message, that Pasi Koskinen (Ajattara, ex-Amorphis, Shape of Despair, ex-St. Mucus, To Separate the Flesh from the Bones) is now the vocalist of the band:

"We are delighted to announce that the worried days without a frontman are finally over, as Pasi Koskinen has joined Mannhai for good. This was a collective decision, and it has been clear for us since we hit the stage together for the first time in Berlin last April. A natural solution, and even obvious, but it's something we should have already done eight months ago, after playing the last gigs with Joañitor. We will now start to rehearse and compose, and prepare ourselves to enter the studio late summer. The result shall be Mannhai's next album, which will hopefully be released in spring '06. We'd also like to thank all the other vocalist candidates, as there were some damn fine shouters among those guys too. The sheet is blank now, and the table is all clean, but we'll mess it up in a big way again! Thank you people, take care and check you later..."
