The following update was posted on Battlelore's MySpace page:

"Hellos all! Thanks for reading my blurbs and keep those comments coming.

First of all, we have been working on the new songs lately and at the moment we actually have some 10 songs in very good "skeleton-phase". Looks extremely positive so far. The music is getting a few steps back in our history and a few steps forward to the future... At the moment it seems that there will be bigger, more epic parts in the vein of "Sword's Song" but also more harder, heavier parts in the vein of "Evernight". I'm quite sure that you fans won't be disappointed with this one. The album should be out sometime in June/July/August 2008.

We have some more gigs coming up. For all you cool North-Americans I must say that still no good news for you. We would love to come "over the deep waters" and play for all of you but it's really not up to us. You need to buy more albums and ask from the local organizers for us.... maybe someday then.

Finally we have a few more Finnish gigs coming up. Seems that our homeland is finally starting to get our idea... Our first UK gig in a long time is also confirmed to be in late February 2008 in Swansea, Wales. There is a big possibility for more UK gigs this coming December as we've been talking about a small tour around the middle December and that one should have some 5 or so UK dates. We'll keep you informed.

Ok, I think this is for the news for now. Have fun, have some beer, enjoy the life!"

Pelican has officially announced the impending release of their "After the Ceiling Cracked" DVD + 3" CD. Here's a rundown from the band:

"For those who do not know, the DVD's centerpiece is a full concert in London from December of 2005 documented by four camera people with Jesu mastermind Justin Broadrick manning the console for both the live and recorded sound mix. The DVD is chock full of photos and songs from several other shows spanning our career. The 3" CD is the digital version of the tunes from our recently released 'Pink Mammoth' 10" EP with an additional collaborative version of the title track featuring contributions from our boys in "These Arms Are Snakes". The whole thing is rounded out by yet another gorgeous layout courtesy of Aaron Turner."

The release will be available on December 4th through Hydra Head Records.

Following a six-year hiatus, Martin Schirenc plans Hollenthon's triumphant return in the spring of 2008 with the long overdue follow-up to the highly acclaimed With Vilest of Worms to Dwell. Currently, the band is busy recording the new tracks in Schirenc's very own studio. The new material is much heavier, but still remains true to the bombastic orchestral and ethnic elements for which Hollenthon is known. A cover version of "The Tea Party" and artwork by Ralph Manfreda (Belphegor) complete this exciting package.

A few days ago, Exodus have issued the following announcement on their website:

"Exodus will not perform the announced Mexico shows on October 25th - 27th on their upcoming South American tour. The band was booked under false pretense by a promoter who failed to fulfill even basic requirements, logistically and financially.

It later surfaced that the promoter in question was involved in other show related controversies earlier this year when a world-known thrash metal band from Europe had to cancel a planned Mexico appearance last minute and advance tickets sold in Mexico were not refunded to the fans.

Exodus is sorry to let down their Mexican fans but after failing to meet several deadlines for deposits, airfares and supplying production information, the promoter made it impossible to realize those shows. As of today, six days to originally planned departure from the U.S., the band did not receive any information regarding equipment, lodging and internal transport; neither airfares nor guarantees were paid."

The following blog was posted on the British Funeral Doomster's MySpace Page:

''As you will have noticed, we have been quite slow with updates lately so I thought I will kickstart some more activity here. First the band news:

We are in the process of recording a two-song promo to send to labels for feedback. It will consist of two ultra epic, lengthy tracks that, although they retain the typical Pantheist flavour, will be more evolved in terms of atmosphere and execution. We hope to have a finished product by the end of this year. Any interested labels that would like to release a future classic in the dark doom genre and lose a lot of money along the way can contact us via the website or this myspace site for a copy of the promo.

For the rest, the band routine has not changed much and as usual includes band members moving abroad or joining other bands. However, rest assured that when the time is there, we will deliver a slab of ridiculously heavy modern doom to crush funereal bedroom projects and atavistic retro hippies alike.

Furthermore, to create some more animosity and controversy, I have decided to follow the example of my good friend Mr Greaves from CBP and occassionally indulge in embarassing yet satisfying rants against everyone and everything, but no one in particular. The frequency will depend on my (nowaydays pretty grumpy) mood, so watch this space...''

According to the band's MySpace page, Therion mainman Christofer Johnsson has vowed to carry on with the group's North American tour even if vocalist Snowy Shaw is forced to sit out a few dates due to his passport being stolen in San Francisco, CA.

In a statement sent earlier today, Johnsson said, "Just want to correct what was just posted by Snowy. There is no risk at all that we will be canceling shows. He may lose a few shows, but we will carry on those without him with Thomas doing his vocal parts. Promoters and fans that travel far can be sure the shows will take place and the only reliable source for possible cancellations of shows is the official Therion web page."

To read the full story go to this location.

UPDATED on 24 October:

Therion have checked in with the following update from mainman Christofer Johnsson regarding the stolen passport situation of bassist Snowy Shaw:

"Snowy got his passport stolen in San Franciso (as some of you already know). He traveled to Japan with a temporary pass and managed to get a new Visa for Japan. While there he has now managed to sort out a new American Visa and has arrived safely to Denver airport and will be making it to the show in Engelwood in good time."

Hi folks

We decided to let you into a sneak preview of the new album "Delusions" that's coming out early next year. There's three brand new samples up on our page for you to check out. A full song will be uploaded in a couple of weeks, so hopefully this will keep you going until then

We've gone for a far more progressive approach musically this time around, and Julie's voice has emcompassed a jazzy style that befits the nature of a lot of the material. These samples don't even come close to portraying the overall variation of styles and moods, but will hopefully give you a rough idea.

Cheers!

Lee & To-Mera

Returning from Japan marks the end of Zyklon's touring activities for "Disintegrate". Japan is always an awesome experience. We had amazing crowds, hospitality and, of course, lots of sake. Looking back on the general touring activities for "Disintegrate", we've seen many of the same clubs and people, but also some new places and a lot of new faces, which has been great. We made it back to the states, even if only for a one-off festival, we played the Roskilde festival, which was really cool opportunity for an extreme metal band like Zyklon, and we did a bunch of other European festivals, some smaller tours, etc. It's been a good run, and a particularly interesting one as Trym, Secthdamon and myself have also done a bunch of big Emperor shows during the same timeline. There have been both pros and cons to that situation, but all in all it's been very cool.

As for future plans, I guess one could say that it's a bit "up in the air" at the moment. Looking back there have been ups and downs during the years with Zyklon. We're not always an easy band to manage, as all members live in different cities and have multiple commitments on different fronts, thus it's often hard for all the logistic and practical things to work. This situation has especially come more into focus in the last year or so, where it has become harder and harder to get the band together when needed, with the spirit and excitement that one expects from a band like this. Basically, I don't feel that we as a band have the fire needed to start working on a new album right now. Therefore Zyklon are taking a break. This is a good time for us to do so. We have completed a good run of shows around the world for our latest album; we have completed all our contractual obligations with Candlelight Records (with success I must add, as Candlelight have treated us well, cheers mates!).

Also, the 'terror-twins', Destructhor and Secthdamon, have plans to go for it with Myrkskog, and will hopefully finally take the actions needed to complete their new, long-delayed, album. I truly hope they will, because this is the time to do it and I know the fans have been waiting for years, and judging from the pre-production material I have heard, it will be massive statement of intricate and brutal death metal. Trym is also working on a new album with his other band, Paganize, at the moment.

Personally, I have a bunch of material written and will keep on working on that over the winter, and basically take it from there. What the future will bring I cannot say at this point. All I know is that we're all active musicians and have no intentions what so ever to stop our mission of METAL!!!
