Matthias Voigt - Denies Rumors Of Playing On New Carcass Album
Matthias Voigt, the drummer of Heaven Shall Burn, has denied rumors circulating that he would be playing drums on the upcoming Carcass album, reportedly in the works.
Blabbermouth has spread the rumour that Carcass is putting on the finishing touches on their first studio album in 17 years that would feature drummer Matthias Voigt, guitarist Bill Steer and bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker for an early 2013 release. Arch Enemy's guitarist Michael Amott and drummer Daniel Erlandsson would be out of the picture and Colin Richardson (Fear Factory, Machine Head, Napalm Death, Slipknot) would produce it. However, there has been no official statement or otherwise from Carcass or any of the members involved with the band so far.
But Heaven Shall Burn has posted the following statement: "Blabbermouth.net is really cool, but sometimes rumors are just rumors. Heaven Shall Burn's Matthias is 100% NOT playing for Carcass! Everybody in HSB maintains the status as devoted Carcass-fan and does not even dare to dream of being involved with this legend! No, Matthias is not playing drums for Carcass in ANY way."
We will see in the future whether this Carcass rumour was actually true or just wishful thinking. For now, at least it appears that drummer Matthias Voigt will not take part in it.

Easily a double bluff playing for the media that Tony Iommi before announcing reunion. I spoke with Bill Steer recently and he explained to me about returning with Carcass in the studio after the Angel Witch tour.
