Anthrax - Announce Permanent New Guitarist
In a recent interview, Anthrax's guitarist Scott Ian confirmed that the band is planning to take on guitarist Jon Donais as the permanent replacement for Rob Caggiano. The Shadows Fall guitarist Jon Donais has been touring with Anthrax since Rob Caggiano left in January and then joined Volbeat.
Speaking on TeamRock Radio, Ian said: "Jon's been with us since February and I think I can safely say he's passed the audition. I know we haven't said anything official yet, but in my mind he's the guy."
He continued: "As far as I'm concerned Jon is the guitar player in Anthrax."

Jason Bittner (Shadows Fall's drummer) is now a member of the reformed thrash band Toxik... I've got a feeling Shadows Fall may be going to split up, or at least go on a hiatus... As for this news specifically, I was really hoping Danny Spitz would rejoin Anthrax, but having Jonathan Donais in the band is not much different to having Rob Caggiano in the band. I just want them to start work on new material, and make another great Anthrax album.
