Alcest - Premiere New Song
You can finally have another taste of Alcest's new album. The new track from the French duo's forthcoming album Shelter is called "Délivrance". If you have ten minutes, check out the new song below for the first time. The band says it is one of their favorite songs on Shelter. Enjoy!
Look for Shelter on January 17th (January 21st in North America) via Prophecy Productions with an appearance from Slowdive's Neil Halstead and production by Birgir Jón Birgisson (Sigur Rós). And don't forget to check out the other song the band released before, "Opale", here.

People have to understand that there isn't metal in Alcest anymore, as if that's a huge shock after the last few albums. I enjoyed it.

It's never been a fully metal project in any case, it's just a matter of really poor songwriting this time around. Neige is running out of ideas and is getting less and less ambitious with his music. Old Silver Key is a good example of this as well, even if that project more rooted in metal.

Glad to see that Neige is very content to make this music, but I just can't connect with this band anymore. It has become just another common indie-rock/shoegazing stereotype, and in 2014 that's certainly not a compliment, imho. Also, I'm getting a bit tired of those "aahh eehh oohh ethereal enchanting overwhelming dreamy BEAUUUTYYY!!". I really can't see where's the big deal. Because if someone tells me that now there's the Icelandic atmosphere or Amiina... Well...

Well, consider that this is the songs with which Alcest are closing the album. So usually its something smooth. Of course cant judge if i ve not listened to the previous tracks of the album but just saying. Yeah i agree that's not something special both this and the other track released...

Snoozefest, but i guess it is alright for background music you ain't paying attention to. And still much better than the first song... now that was atrocious. All that Alcest inspires me lately is some sort of little girl's dream with lots of fairies and rainbow ponies and magical clouds with some constant background high-pitch annoying voice going "aaaaaaah-ehhhhhhhhh-uhhhhhhh-ohhhhhh" forever. I can't dig that.

Seems to me that at any given time Metalstorm always has a few bands that everyone loves to gang up on and hate, and it seems that at the moment Alcest is right at the top of that list.

I've always just found it amusing watching the ebb and flow of hate on Metalstorm which always seems to be directed at a select few bands at a time before shifting elsewhere. Wasn't trying to say people are hating on it because that's the "cool" thing to do, which is what it probably came across as.
