Schammasch - To Release Remastered Version Of 'Sic Lvceat Lvx'

Extreme metallers Schammasch have good news for their fans. The band, which released the acclaimed Contradiction album in 2014 that eventually made it to Metal Storm Awards 2014, is now going to reissue a remastered version of their first opus Sic Luceat Lux. The remastering will be done by V. Santura (Dark Fortress, Triptykon) who also produced Contradiction. Everyone will know who did the artwork by the look of it and yes, it is Metastazis (who also did Contradiction's artwork). You can hear the remastered version of "Black But Shining" below now.

Sic Luceat Lux will be released in North America on May 19th, UK/EU on May 18th and in Germany on May 22nd via Prosthetic Records.

Vocalist C.S.R. commented: "Six years have passed since me and B.A. (drums) met in our old rehearsal room to discuss a new project. After the first few rehearsals in summer 2009, Schammasch was born. Yet without any kind of clear vision or line, but a strong will, we started to work on two songs which would later bear the titles 'Chaos Reigns' and the metaphoric 'He Whose Face Is Made of Entrails.' Later that year, M.A. (guitars) joined us as a session member. It took us one year of chaotic, fevered work to finish the seven tracks for Sic Lvceat Lvx, which were first released in October 2010.

"Now, five years later, many things have changed and I somehow didn't ever expect to talk about a reissue someday. So what else can I say, than just that it's making me proud to announce the reissue of Sic Lvceat Lvx, in a brand new outfit and finally available on vinyl, through a label that actually does stuff on a professional level. Hopefully this album gets its deserved attention at last in 2015. No high-polished production and no technical perfectionism can be found here, but rather simple-hearted rawness, experimental songwriting and charming honesty."

Couldn't find a copy of the original (not ANYWHERE, not even on bandcamp or anything), so I'm really glad they're re-releasing it. Contradiction was one of my favorite albums of 2014 by far, so I'm excited to see what this band did with their first album.

They have copies on their website (and live shows). But yeah, I guess a re-issue will make it easier to get.

Really? I must've totally missed it, 'cause I checked their site a few times and for some reason I didn't see it. Looking at it now though, I totally see it. Maybe I'm just retarded...
