Eagles Of Death Metal - Over 100 Dead After Paris Show Terrorist Attack

The venue Le Bataclan in Paris, France, hosts hundreds of shows every year, and many of those are from metal bands. After the tragedy in Romania recently, another one happens. During an Eagles Of Death Metal concert last night, at least 112 people were killed by terrorists who also seized hostages. More than 1,000 people were inside the hall at the time of the rampage but police did bring the hostage situation to a close. This Friday night, several other attacks took place in Paris at different locations. The members of Eagles Of Death Metal survived according to their management. Deftones were also scheduled to perform at Le Bataclan today.

At Le Bataclan, gunmen reportedly burst into the venue and opened fire before detonating suicide bombs. A state of emergency has been declared in France and 15000 military personnel have been deployed onto the streets. It is understood eight attackers have been accounted for in Paris.

Michael Dorio, brother of Eagles Of Death Metal drummer Julian Dorio, said he spoke to Julian about 20-30 minutes after the attack. "He said he had been performing and heard the gunshots. They stopped playing and hit the deck and went backstage and exited," Michael Dorio told CNN.

Several metal bands have expressed their condolences and solidarity with the victims of these attacks. Many of those have played at this venue before. Here are just a few of those messages:
