Shadowflag - Disband
After 10 years and 4 studio album releases, British black metal crew Shadowflag have decided to disband. The five-piece from Cheltenham also confirmed final show on September 17th, 2022 at Scruffy Murphys in Birmingham.
Band statement: Take one sip from this glass, let the years come flooding past. Shadowflag has been a central part of our lives for over ten years now and, from the beginning, we always said that we would know when the time had come. And now, sadly, it has. We can look back on all the fantastic memories, all the great shows we have played, all the miles we have travelled and all the wonderful people we have met along the way - and can honestly say that none of us regret one second of any of it. Being in any band is a blessing and allows us to experience a unity and a creative cohesion that is so unique in life. Shadowflag has given us that in abundance. We want to thank all those who have become part of this - whether by coming to shows, buying merch, listening to our music; we want to thank the promoters and all the bands that we have played with; we want to thank Ajeet at Hellfire Studios for being the man to capture our sounds; we want to thank Rebecca for the years she dedicated to managing an unruly bunch of idiots, and we want to thank you for caring about Shadowflag and reading this post.
"Of course, beginnings can only follow endings and who knows what is next for all of us. That will be a space worth watching. In the meantime, we want to announce one final show because, let’s face it, we were never going to just bow out without a trace. This will happen on September 17th 2022 at Scruffy Murphys in Birmingham and coincides with the Black City Records Pop-up shop weekend. Expect a celebration of our music and our journey over the years, and we hope that as many of you as possible will join us for what will undoubtedly be a very special night."
