Paradox - Drummed Passed Away
German thrash metal veterans Paradox revealed that the band's co-founder and drummer, Axel Blaha, has passed away at the age of 59. More can be read below.
Frontman Charly Steinhauer commented: ''Dear fans and friends... It is with unbearable pain that I have to tell you the following news. Axel Blaha, co-founder and drummer of Paradox passed away yesterday at the age of 59. After over 30 years he returned to Paradox for the current album Heresy II - End Of A Legend (2021). He plays drums on our two classics Product Of Imagination (1987) and Heresy (1989).
"Axel was my lifelong friend and like a real brother to me. When we formed the band in 1981, we didn't know that what we were doing would one day reach fans all over the world. Axel couldn't play drums and I couldn't play guitar, but we still formed a band because we loved this music. Within 5 years we had a worldwide record deal. Without Axel there would be no Paradox. Our great close friendship has developed in us the passion that it takes to achieve something like this.
"With deepest sadness R.I.P. Axel. We miss you sooo much!! You will always have a big place in my heart."
