Blind Guardian - To Begin Writing Next Music Output In 2025

Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kürsch confirmed in a recent interview with Dave Griffiths of Australia's Subculture that, with the band's busy tour schedule for 2024, they are not expected to begin writing new material for the follow-up to 2022's The God Machine until next year.

When asked if the band were already working on new music, Kürsch said: "We belong to the bands which cannot really dig into new creation when it's on the road. So, we're working on all the concerts we have to play first. And that keeps us busy until pretty much the end of the year. We're still touring North America, we're touring U.K. and Scandinavia. We're playing a lot of the big European festivals, and so on and so on. So, I would say this will be a year dedicated to live performances. We work a bit on acoustic stuff, but that's old stuff which we try to present in a different way. But other than that, I would say we start with the real songwriting in 2025."

Although their last album went back to their more "speedy power metal" roots, it just wasn't near the same quality as the albums up to Nightfall. Still really good, but hope they can pull off something a little more memorable with the next one. Hopefully it will come out within the next 5 years.

I don't think many fans would look forward to surpassing NF released in late 90s. As a matter of fact, for me, BG is the only group who have consistently leveled up with quality and has given us great albums lately.

Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed all their albums...even the ones after Nightfall. Personally though, and I would think most would agree, the albums after that were not close to being on par with those great albums. For me, Imaginations is probably my favorite album of all time. Pretty hard to top something that was near perfection.

That was my same case, with the difference that I enjoyed so much all their stuff, and I can relate greatly with every and each of their tracks. Such is the legacy the metal bards left on my life.

Changing the course, indeed is GREAT NEWS making preparations for the next bomb.
