Acid Reign - Guitarist Departure Confirmed
Roughly a week after the departure of longtime drummer Marc Jackson, British thrash metal legends Acid Reign now have parted ways with their guitarist Dean "Cooky" Cook, who had been part of the band since they reunited nearly a decade ago. This makes him the third member of The Age Of Entitlement lineup to have quit Acid Reign, after guitarist Paul Chanter (who had left the band in back in 2022) and Marc Jackson.
Cooky wrote via Acid Reign's Facebook page: "Words From Cooky.... In 2015 after posting a vid on Facebook of me playing goddess, that I was only meant to be playing in my cover band to getting the chance to audition for the band and play the very tune to all the Acid Reign fans was one of the best things that happened in my life. It’s been nine years since that moment, and it’s been a proper rollercoaster ride.
"From getting the record of maximum capacity at the Sophie Lancaster stage at Bloodstock 2016 where we had the record for crowd surfers to play in the main stage in 2021. Also playing some gigs as a solo guitarist was Mental. But pushed me and give me confidence I never thought I had.
"Recently, my health has not been very good and it’s finally got me to the point where I’ve had to make my decision on continuing in the band. I had some great times in the band and met some amazing people. In the future, if anybody sees me at a gig or festival, please come and say hi. I honestly love you all and appreciate the love you have for the band. Apple core forever!!!"
